Plot

Surya (Akshay Kumar) is a kind-hearted, honest man who is known as "Boss" in his neighbourhood. He assists the underprivileged and speaks out against injustice. Satyakant Shastri (Mithun Chakraborty), his father, is a distinguished teacher who believes in the power of education. Shiv (Shiv Pandit), Surya's younger brother, is involved in some illicit operations and is on the run from the law. Surya decides to assist his brother and sets out to find him. Along the journey, he faces a number of obstacles, including a powerful and corrupt politician named Ayushman Thakur (Ronit Roy) who is on his tail.

Surya must confront his history and face his own demons as he fights against the odds to save his brother and bring justice to the people. He discovers his true identity and how his father was falsely accused of a crime he did not commit. Surya's father was compelled to abandon the village, leaving behind his family. Surya takes vengeance on Ayushman Thakur and exposes his shady dealings. With the help of his friends, including a former police officer (Johnny Lever), Surya fights for what is right and emerges victorious in the end. In the climax, Surya reunites with his father and brother and the family reconciles.

Rediff.com rated the film two out of five stars, saying, "Boss is a noisy, dumb, and predictable movie." Akshay Kumar does his best to keep the film together, but it's not enough to keep it from being a flop.

Character Analysis

Boss, played by Akshay Kumar, is a bold and brutal mobster who is also deeply loyal to his family and friends. He is fast to act and will not hesitate to use violence when necessary. 

The major antagonist of the film is Ayushman Thakur, played by Ronit Roy. He is a crooked police officer who is desperate to bring Boss to justice. Ayushman is crafty and manipulative, utilising his power and influence to obtain what he wants.

Satyakant Shastri, played by Mithun Chakraborty, is a respected schoolteacher. He admires his son's bravery and dedication, but he disapproves of his illicit activities.

Shiv Pandit plays Shiv, a young man who works for Boss and eventually becomes a trusted ally. He is shown as a loyal and brave individual who is willing to put his life in danger for Boss.

Ankita, played by Aditi Rao Hydari, is a young woman who falls in love with Shiv. She is portrayed as a strong, independent lady who is not scared to express herself.
