Bawaal is a 2023 Indian love drama film in the Hindi language that was produced by Sajid Nadiadwala and Ashwiny Iyer Tiwari and directed by the accomplished Nitesh Tiwari. The film is a collaboration between Earthsky Pictures and Nadiadwala Grandson Entertainment, two studios renowned for their outstanding storytelling and compelling narratives. The dynamic duo of Varun Dhawan and Janhvi Kapoor plays a troubled married couple in the movie's key roles.
Due to his philosophy of ‘fake it until you make it,’ Ajay Dikshit, an image-conscious narcissist who teaches history at a school in Lucknow, despises his lie-filled life despite the awe and admiration others have for him. Nisha, his attractive and brilliant wife, suffers from epilepsy, and he hasn't let her out of the house for fear that her 'episodes' will affect his reputation.
When one of his students, Atul Raghuvanshi, whom he slaps in frustration over a question about World War II, turns out to be the son of MLA Vishwas Raghuvanshi, he finds himself and his reputation in jeopardy.
Ajay takes Nisha with him as he travels across Europe to locations that hold crucial significance for the war. This takes them on an adventure that will teach them about life and history while also reshaping their outlook on interpersonal conflict and how they interact with others.

Reviews
This movie tells the story of a limited man who is rescued by his considerably superior wife. A significant portion of the film is totally pleasant. Varun portrays a fool to the greatest degree, and Janhvi portrays Nisha with maturity. You can never embrace their relationship, but what's even more difficult to accept is how often the worst period in European history is used to advance their romance.
Of course, Western films have done something similar in the past with the histories of other countries, so it's something of a learning experience to watch it being done in the opposite direction. It is unfortunate that the rest of the movie is so short on fun, spirit, humour, and charm that the film's shockingly bad taste is the only thing that stands out.

Ajay fears that Nisha's occasional seizures, or 'fits' as he calls them, could tarnish his carefully cultivated reputation.
