Aarohi Keshav Shirke (Shraddha Kapoor), a gifted and aspiring singer from a small town, and Rahul Jaykar (Aditya Roy Kapur), a once-famous singer who is battling alcoholism and self-destructive tendencies, are the focus of "Aashiqui 2"'s love story.

Casting Challenges: "Aashiqui 2"'s lead actors Rahul and Aarohi had a very thorough casting process. The directors were looking for new talent that could give the characters life and complexity.
