Plot

Aapla Manus

Aapla Manus follows Bhakti and Rahul, a young urban couple. Rahul's father Aaba hosts the pair. Rahul is a lawyer and Bhakti teaches college. Rahul's law partner Nitin is his pal.

Aaba falls off their balcony one night and is hospitalised. Inspector Nagargoje, who resembles Aaba and is the same age, questions Rahul. Rahul describes his father and wife's arguments. To protect Nishu, they send him to boarding school. Two days before the incident, Bhakti leaves halfway through their two-day Lonavala excursion and they return the next day.

Nagargoje claims they encouraged suicide. He proves Aaba committed suicide, which they deny. Later, the hospital calls to say Aaba is awake but still unconscious. Rahul tells Bhakti that his Lonavala fight with Aaba may have caused his suicide. Nagargoje invites them to his home late at night and says it's not a suicide. Since they can't do anything, they go peacefully. Nagargoje approaches Rahul at court the next day and suggests his wife tried to kill Aaba. Rahul brings him home to test his theory. Bhakti collapses after Nagargoje presents evidence. Rahul defends her, but she admits to trying to kill Aaba with Nitin.

Rahul later meets Nagargoje to persuade him to drop charges. He tells him he must confess to the crime and appeal for leniency in court to save his wife. When Rahul arrives home, Bhakti tells him that Nagargoje visited her earlier in the day and informed her he feels Rahul tried to kill his father. She and Nitin should pretend to kill Aaba and then tell Rahul the truth to save her.

Nagargoje arrests Rahul the next day and presents new proof that he tried to assassinate Aaba. Nitin bails Rahul out. After several days, Aaba sends a suicide note. Nagargoje later tells them that the note or signature didn't match Aaba's handwriting. Aaba awakens and recounts the accident, relieving everyone. They discuss emotional bonding with Nagargoje. They apologise to Nagargoje and Aaba.
