Mahesh Mathai directed the 1999 Hindi movie Bhopal Express. The movie stars Vijay Raaz Nethra Raghuraman Zeenat Aman Kay Kay Menon and Naseeruddin Shah. Prasoon Pandey a director of commercials and his brother Piyush Pandey wrote the story. The trio of Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy composed the music.

However six grams of marijuana were discovered in his carry-on luggage by airport security when he was being checked.
