They were eliminated from the playoffs by the UP Yoddha because of their failure to perform at their best in crucial games with small margins.

Puneri Paltan and U Mumba compete in the Maharashtra derby and U Mumba currently has the winning rights after winning 9 of the 15 meetings between the two teams. They were eliminated by the eventual winner Bengal Warriors in the second semi-final of season 7 by a score of 35-37.

At a jam-packed NSCI Stadium in Mumbai on Sunday U Mumba defeated the resilient Bengaluru Bulls 36-30 in a dramatic summit match to win the second Star Sports Pro Kabaddi championship.
