Trisha Krishnan is an Indian actress and model who predominantly appears in Tamil and Telugu movies. She gained attention after taking first place in the Miss Chennai pageant in 1999 which marked her entrée into the movie business.  Because of her proficiency in all South Indian languages Trisha is frequently referred to as the Queen of South India. The Times of India has listed her as one of South India's top actresses.

She first played the lead in the 2002 Tamil film Mounam Pesiyadhe after making an appearance in a supporting role in Jodi in 1999. 96 (2018)

96 is a 2018 Indian romantic drama film in the Tamil language that was written and directed by C. Premkumar. The movie was made by S. Nanthagopal of Madras Enterprises and Lalit Kumar under the name Seven Screen Studio. The movie features Bagavathi Perumal Devadarshini Aadukalam Murugadoss and Shyam Prasad in supporting parts in addition to Trisha Krishnan and Vijay Sethupathi in the key roles. 

The 1996 class reunion is the central plot of the movie. Ram and Jaanu two former lovers can work out their concerns with their split thanks to the reunion. When the movie first came out critics gave it rave reviews complimenting Dhanush's performance. Trisha received the Tamil Filmfare Critics Award for Best Actress. In 2018 the movie was remade in Kannada as Dhwaja.

Vinnaithaandi Varuvaayaa (2010)

Vinnaithaandi Varuvaayaa is the 2010 Tamil-language love drama film starring Silambarasan and Trisha was written and directed by Gautham Vasudev Menon. The movie was jointly produced by Elred Kumar Jayaraman VTV Ganesh and P. Madan and released by Udhayanidhi Stalin's Red Giant Movies under the auspices of Escape Artists Motion Pictures and RS Infotainment. Samantha and Naga Chaitanya were the stars of Ye Maaya Chesave which was simultaneously filmed in Telugu and featured a different ensemble.

Vinnaithaandi Varuvaayaa attracted great media interest through scheduling in Malta and the United States and the shooting proceeded until 2009. It had a successful soundtrack debut at the British Academy of Film and Television Arts (BAFTAs) in London making it the first Tamil film to achieve so before its release. A. R. Rahman composed the soundtrack for the movie Manoj Paramahamsa shot the scenes and Anthony Gonsalves edited it.

Abhiyum Naanum (2008)

The 2008 comedy-drama Abhiyum Naanum was produced by Prakash Raj and directed by Radha Mohan. Aishwarya and Ganesh Venkatraman play supporting roles with Trisha taking the lead as Prakash Raj's daughter. The English movie Father of the Bride served as the inspiration for the movie. The movie was partially reshot in Telugu as Aakasamantha with Jagapathi Babu replacing Prithviraj and it was released in 2009.

The soundtrack to the movie was composed by Vidyasagar. The movie began production in October 2007 and debuted on December 19 2008. The movie received positive reviews upon release and won several accolades including the ITFA Best Movie Award.

According to reports the story and some of the sequences were lifted from the 1991 film Father of the Bride. The movie was adapted as Naanu Nanna Kanasu in Kannada.

Varsham is a 2004 Telugu-language romantic action movie that was produced by M.S. Raju under the Sumanth Art Productions label directed by Sobhan and starred Prabhas Trisha and Gopichand. This movie is also marked as Trisha's debut in Telugu cinema. Devi Sri Prasad provided the soundtrack for the movie.The movie was remade as Mazhai in Tamil Barsa My Darling in Odia and Baaghi in Hindi. 

In 125 locations the movie enjoyed a 50-day run. In its first 100 days the movie made between 18 and 20 crores which in 2020 would be 60 crores or US$7.5 million. 

Ghilli (2004)

Ghilli is a 2004 romantic sports action comedy movie in Tamil that was produced and directed by Dharani. It is an adaptation of the Telugu movie Okkadu (2003). With Ashish Vidyarthi Dhamu Mayilsamy and Janaki Sabesh playing supporting parts the movie stars Vijay Trisha and Prakash Raj.

Vidyasagar wrote the score and soundtrack CD. Gopinath was in charge of the cinematography and V. T. Vijayan and B. Lenin edited the film. Bharathan wrote the dialogue for the movie. The movie debuted on April 17 2004 to mostly favourable reviews and it was a financial success.

 The movie broke the box office records set by Padayappa in 1999 by playing in theatres for more than 200 days. Ghilli became the first Tamil film to gross 50 crores at the box office as well as the highest-grossing non-Malayalam movie at the time in Kerala. Rajinikanth's 1999 film Padayappa's box office records were broken by its commercial success. The movie made 2.05 crore in the Coimbatore region.

Mounam Pesiyadhe (2002)

Mounam Pesiyadhe a 2002 Tamil-language love drama movie was directed by Ameer as  his first attempt at directing. Suriya and Trisha who are making her acting debut play the leads with newcomers Nandha Neha Pendse choreographer-turned-actor Anju Mahendra and numerous more newbies playing supporting roles. Laila makes a brief cameo appearance in the film's climactic scene. 

On December 13 2002 the movie was released and it quickly became a success. Aadanthe Ado Type a Telugu remake was released in 2003. Kaanchu a dub was released later that year (2006).  

Positive reviews followed the debut of Yuvan Shankar Raja's music. Ghatak Returns is another Hindi dub for it (2012). The title of the movie is based on a serial that Vikram was meant to direct and Ameer to serve as his assistant. New Zealand Italy Mauritius Egypt and other picturesque areas in and around India were used for filming.

Jailer (2023)

Jailer a forthcoming action comedy in the Tamil language from India starring Nelson and Kalanithi Maran of Sun Pictures is titled Jailer. Rajinikanth plays the lead role in the movie; supporting cast members include Shiva Rajkumar Vasanth Ravi Yogi Babu Ramya Krishnan and Vinayakan. Shiva Rajkumar makes his film debut in Tamil with this.

The movie's working title was Thalaivar 169 when it was first formally announced in February 2022. Later that June the title was unveiled and production got underway in August. The movie is slated to hit theatres on April 14 2023.

The soundtrack was written by Anirudh who has previously worked with Nelson on Kolamaavu Kokila Doctor and Beast.
