Tillotama Shome is a skilled Indian actress who has appeared in a number of independent film films. She was born on 25 June 1988, in Kolkata, and spent her youth travelling throughout India due to her father's employment in the Indian Air Force. Shome attended Lady Shri Ram College in Delhi before joining Arvind Gaur's Asmita theatrical group. She relocated to New York in 2004 to pursue a master's degree in educational theatre at New York University. She taught theatre to murder inmates in a high-security US prison during her tenure in New York.

Shome made her feature film debut as Alice in Mira Nair's Monsoon Wedding. She went on to play Deepa in Florian Gallenberger's Shadows of Time, and a nun in Claire McCarthy's The Waiting City in Australia. She played a social worker in Italo Spinelli's Gangor, based on Mahashweta Devi's novel. Shome also appears in Qaushiq Mukherjee's Tasher Desh and Dibakar Banerjee's Shanghai, both directed by Dibakar Banerjee. Her performance in Shanghai was called one of this year's most heartbreaking performances in a Hindi film.

Tillotama Shome is still working on film and web series projects such as Deep6, Delhi Crime, The Night Manager, Tooth Pari: When Love Bites, and Lust Stories 2.
