Tiku Talsania’s TV Debut -Yeh Jo Hai Zindagi (1984)

A sitcom called Yeh Jo Hai Zindagi aired on DD National in 1984. Sharad Joshi a comedian wrote the script and Kundan Shah S. S. Oberoi and Raman Kumar were in charge of the direction.

The episodes focused on the humorous events that occurred in the lives of the married couple Ranjit and Renu Verma (played by Shafi Inamdar and Swaroop Sampat respectively) as well as Renu's younger single brother Raja (Rakesh Bedi) and Chachi's daughter who plays the role of Rashmi. Other characters were Tiku Talsania who played Ranjit's boss as well as Vijay Kashyap and Sulabha Arya who played his Bengali neighbours.

The characters Satish Shah portrayed in Yeh Jo Hai Zindagi from Episode 1 to Episode 54 became a signature of the show. Shah took on a different role that was crucial to the story in each episode. These people would come from all walks of life and different parts of India; some would be close family friends of the Vermas and others would be complete strangers. Due to the variety of personalities he performed on the show Satish was dubbed King of Comedy by the entertainment media between the years 1984 to 1986.

A sitcom called Yeh Duniya Ghazab Ki was the first broadcast on Doordarshan in the early 1990s.

Ek Se Badh Kar Ek (1995)

Doordarshan premiered programmed Ek Se Badh Kar Ek. Initially under Mukul Anand's direction the programme was supported by BPL. Journalists Rauf Ahmed and Madhulika Verma penned the first few episodes of the television series.

Antara portrayed by Kartika Rane the show's main character is the love interest of two of her uncle's tenants played by Tiku Talsania and Ravi Baswani who live in a mansion that has a ghost named Raja. An Indian sitcom called Sajan Re Phir Jhoot Mat Bolo aired on SAB TV from May 23 2017 until September 14 2018. Hussain Kuwajerwala Parvati Vaze Tiku Talsania and Sharad Ponkshe are among the cast members of this Sajan Re Jhoot Mat Bolo sequel. Reruns started airing on Sony Pal on June 18 2018. The 340 episodes of the show came to an end on September 14th 2018.

An affluent man named Jaiveer Chopra develops feelings for a Jaya in college. He tells her a lie by claiming to be indigent. Both return to their parents after college. Jaya is being welcomed by Jai at a party. At Jaya's home Jai discovers that her father Lalit Rao Lokhande despises the wealthy.

He comes up with a scheme to appear impoverished and persuades others to pose as his family. Jai builds a phoney impoverished house next to his mansion with various doorways leading into each home.

Sudhakar and Jaya's attempts to secure a position as a doctor in Jai's business frequently cause problems for Jai and Jaya in their marriage. After overhearing a conversation between Jai and Kangana Kalia about keeping the family's valuable secrets from Lokhande and Jaya Jaya spies on Jai. When Jaya poses as a maid at the Chopra mansion she discovers Jai's wealth but Jai outs her. Jaya trips and falls down the stairs losing some of her memory and only being able to recall what happened up until the point of her marriage to Jai.

Upon returning to Jai's home Lokhande tells Jaya a lie claiming that she is still in 2012. Although Jaya starts to feel something for Jai she still believes he is not the proper man for her. Jaya is still hesitant to marry Jai because she has misgivings about him and his family despite Jai's best efforts to win her over as before. The scheme backfires when Jaya agrees to marry Jaiveer because Gyanchand/Deepak picks the wedding date in error—2018.

Jai and Jaya have a few brief love exchanges as the plot advances but Lokhande discovers Jai and his family are well-off. Jai learns that the plotter who found the truth is a fake and that the real Lokhande has been abducted. In the meantime Lokhande experiences. The Chopras believe Lokhande is dead because of a sleep-related illness he has.

When Jaya learns that Jai is lying with Deepak she makes an attempt to phone the police and have Jai taken into custody. Jaya's rudeness and haughtiness toward Jai infuriate Lokhande who then admits that Jai is her spouse and that she is losing her memory.

Jai decorates his room with all the special memories of their courtship and marriage in an effort to bring her memory back. Jai forgives Jaya after she apologises to him.

Tiku Talsania’s Movie Debut- Pyar Ke Do Pal (1986)

A 1986 Hindi-language movie with Mithun Chakraborty Jaya Prada Dimple Kapadia Krishan Dhawan Jagdeep Tiku Talsania Lalita Pawar and Anjan Srivastav in the lead roles Pyar Ke Do Pal was directed by Rajiv Mehra. Mithun Chakraborty Jayapradha and Simple Kapadia star in the family drama Pyaar Ke Do Pal which also stars Krishan Dhawan Lalita Pawar Jagdeep Tiku Talsania and Anjan Srivastav. 

According to a court decision Sunil and Anil both reside with their parents Geeta and Ashok Choudhary. At a Scout camp the kids run into each other and decide to find their parents again. When Geeta Choudhary gave her name to assist her friend Rajni Thakur in getting married the parents misunderstood the situation regarding abortion. The specific problem and whether they resolve everything is revealed in the climax.

Coolie No. 1 (1995)

David Dhawan directed the 1995 comedy-masala Coolie No. 1 which was written by Rumi Jaffery and Kader Khan. With music by Anand-Milind the movie features Govinda Karisma Kapoor Kader Khan Shakti Kapoor Harish Kumar Sadashiv Amrapurkar and Mahesh Anand. One of Kapoor's first commercially successful films was this one.

Govinda was named performance of the decade for his work in this film and got the Star Screen Award Special Jury Award. The film is now regarded as a cult favourite and a classic in the annals of Hindi cinema. The movie is a remake of the Tamil movie Chinna Mapillai from 1993.

Raja Hindustani (1996)

Raja Hindustani a 1996 romantic drama movie in Hindi was made by Dharmesh Darshan. The narrative centres on a taxi driver from a small town who develops feelings for a wealthy young lady.  The lead actors are Karisma Kapoor and Aamir Khan. The narrative of the 1996 movie which debuted on November 15th was based on the Shashi Kapoor and Nanda-starring 1965 classic Jab Jab Phool Khile.  The music for the movie was written by Nadeem-Shravan and Sameer wrote the lyrics. It later went on to take home five Filmfare Awards including those for Best Film and Best Actors and seven Screen Awards. 

Raja Hindustani ranked third among Hindi movies with the highest net income during the 1990s.

Despite having a 5.75 crore budget the movie made 76.34 crores in total revenue becoming the highest-grossing movie of the year and behind Hum Aapke Hain Koun..! Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge and Kuch Kuch Hota Hai the fourth-highest-grossing movie in India of the 1990s. 

The music from the movie became well-liked and profitable particularly in India's central and eastern states. For her appearance and portrayal of Aarti a wealthy gorgeous sensitive young woman with many goals and desires Karisma Kapoor received praise. It is considered to be one of Kapoor's best performances and her biggest commercial triumph to date; it marked a significant turning point in her career. For her performance she received the Filmfare Best Actress Award. 

Aamir Khan and Karisma Kapoor's on-screen chemistry was praised and there was a much-discussed kissing moment. In 2002 the movie was recreated in Kannada as Naanu Naane with Upendra and Sakshi Shivanand playing the key roles. In 2005 the movie was remade in Odia as Priya Mo Priya and Prema Bandham was later dubbed into Telugu.

Hero No.1 (1997)

Hero No. 1 was released in 1997 and was helmed by David Dhawan. Along with a large supporting cast it has Govinda and Karishma Kapoor as the main performers.

The movie uses a theme from the Bengali movie Galpo Holeo Satti which was itself a remake of the movie Bawarchi. Goppinti Alludu is the Telugu name of the remake. 

The movie did well at the box office after its debut earning 309.5 million against a production budget of 67.5 million which translates to 290 million or US$3.7 million in 2020. It was the sixth-best-grossing movie of the year. The movie advertised itself as a family-friendly piece of 90s entertainment.

Virasat (1997)

The action drama VirasatIn was released in 1997. After the Tamil film Thevar Magan became successful Kamal Haasan rewrote the story and had it remade. The film was made by the Mushir-Riaz pair. The film has Anil Kapoor Tabu Amrish Puri Pooja Batra Milind Gunaji and Govind Namdeo among its cast. The songs and the score for the music were written by Anu Malik and S. P. Venkatesh respectively. Priyadarshan made a triumphant return to Hindi cinema with this movie. 

The Ilaiyaraaja original compositions from Thevar Magan were repurposed by the film's music director Annu Malik. The song Payalay Chunmun in this film features beatboxing by Tabu.

At the 43rd Filmfare Awards Virasat was nominated for sixteen categories including Best Film Best Director (Priyadarshan) and Best Actor (Anurag Kashyap).In addition to winning in seven categories including Best Film (Critics) Best Actor (Critics) for Kapoor Best Actress (Critics) for Tabu Best Supporting Actor (Critics) for Puri and Best Story for Haasan Virasat received sixteen nominations at the 43rd Filmfare Awards including Best Film Best Director for Priyadarshan Best Actor for Kapoor Best Actress for Tabu. 

Deewana Mastana (1997)

David Dhawan directed the 1997 Indian romance comedy Deewana Mastana in Hindi. Anil Kapoor Govinda and Juhi Chawla play significant parts in the movie. Salman Khan makes a guest cameo and Johnny Lever Anupam Kher Reema Lagoo Shakti Kapoor Saeed Jaffrey and Kader Khan play supporting roles. Manmohan Desai received this movie's dedication. 

This movie incorporates certain plot points from the What About Bob? comedy from 1991.  For his work in this movie Johnny Lever won the Filmfare Award for Best Comedian. After it was released the movie was a hit.

Ishq (1997)

Indra Kumar's 1997 romantic action comedy Ishq is an Indian production. Along with Aamir Khan Kajol Juhi Chawla Ajay Devgn and Dalip Tahil in the lead roles supporting actors Johnny Lever Sadashiv Amrapurkar Dalip Tahil and Mohan Joshi also appear.

The third-highest-earning movie of 1997 was Ishq which was released on November 28 and made over 500 million (US$6.3 million) worldwide. The 43rd Filmfare Awards nominated Amrapurkar for Best Villain as a result. As Snehana Preethina the movie was remade in Kannada (2007).

Anu Malik created the soundtrack. Sixth best-selling Bollywood soundtrack album of the year after selling 3 million copies the Ishq soundtrack album was released in 2011. The successful song Neend Churai Meri lifted its melody from Linear's Sending All My Love which was released in the same year.

Pyaar Kiya To Darna Kya is a 1998 Indian romantic comedy movie in Hindi. Salman Khan Arbaaz Khan Kajol and Dharmendra all play significant roles in the Sohail Khan-written and -directed movie. The movie is filmed at Daly College in Indore. After having previously participated in Karan Arjun (1995) and later in Kuch Kuch Hota Hai (1998) both of which had Kajol in a love pairing with Shahrukh Khan the movie is the first and only time Salman Khan and Kajol have worked together as a pair. The movie did well financially at the box office.

Pyaar Kiya To Darna Kya garnered seven nominations for the 44th Filmfare Awards including Best Film Best Director (Sohail) Best Actor (Salman) and Best Supporting. Pyaar Kiya To Darna Kya won the R. D. Burman Award for New Music Talent and garnered seven nominations for the 44th Filmfare Awards including Best Film Best Director (Sohail) Best Actor (Salman) and Best Supporting Actor (Arbaaz) (Kamaal Khan for O O Jaane Jaana).

Pyaar To Hona Hi Tha (1998)

Pyaar To Hona Hi Tha a 1998 Indian romantic comedy which starred Kajol and Ajay Devgn. The movie is a scene-for-scene imitation of the Meg Ryan and Kevin Kline-starring 1995 American film French Kiss.

Pyaar To Hona Hi Tha garnered five nominations for the 44th Filmfare Awards including Best Film and Best Supporting Actor (Puri) and won Best Female Playback Singer (Jaspinder Narula for Pyaar To Hona Hi Tha). 

In addition Kajol was nominated for Best Actress at the ceremony for her work in the movie but she took home the prize for her work in Kuch Kuch Hota Hai. The movie was a huge blockbuster at the box office and had the third-highest revenue in 1998.

Devdas (2002)

Sanjay Leela Bhansali directed the 2002 Hindi-language period romance drama film Devdas which was also produced by Bharat Shah through his company Mega Bollywood. It features Jackie Shroff Kirron Kher Smita Jaykar and Vijayendra Ghatge in supporting parts alongside Shah Rukh Khan Aishwarya Rai and Madhuri Dixit in the key roles. The plot of Devdas Mukherjee (Khan) a wealthy law graduate who returns from London to marry his childhood friend Parvati Paro is based on Sarat Chandra Chattopadhyay's 1917 novel of the same name (Rai). But his spiral into drunkenness and subsequent emotional degeneration prompts him to seek sanctuary with the kind-hearted courtesan Chandramukhi after his own family rejects their marriage (Dixit).

After rereading the book Bhansali became motivated to adapt it into a movie. He first revealed his plans for the project in November 1999. Together with Prakash Ranjit Kapadia who also penned the dialogue they wrote the screenplay. The sets were constructed by Nitin Chandrakant Desai between August 2000 and May 2001 for a cost of 200 million (US$4.12 million). He conducted in-depth research on British Raj-era Calcuttan building architecture alongside Bhansali and other teams. From November 2000 to April 2002 Binod Pradhan oversaw principal photography which took place in Bikaner Film City and Filmistan. The soundtrack was written by Ismail Darbar and Birju Maharaj and the background music was by Monty Sharma.

Devdas had its world premiere on July 12 of that year after having its Cannes premiere on May 23. With a budget of 500 million ($10.29 million) it was at the time the most expensive Indian movie ever made. When the movie was released in theatres it earned better reviews than when it had its Cannes premiere. The movie was a huge hit on the box office becoming the highest-grossing Indian movie of the year after taking in about 1.68 billion ($35 million) globally. 

It received numerous honours winning five at the 50th National Film Awards including Best Popular Film Providing Wholesome Entertainment and Best Female Playback Singer (Shreya Ghoshal for Bairi Piya). It received a record-breaking 11 prizes at the 48th Filmfare Awards. It received a record-breaking 11 prizes at the 48th Filmfare Awards including Best Film Best Director (Bhansali) Best Actor (Khan) Best Actress (Rai) and Best Supporting Actress (Dixit). Additionally it was put in for the BAFTA Award for Best Film Not Made in English.

Phir Hera Pheri (2006)

Phir Hera Pheri a 2006 Indian comedy film was written and directed by Neeraj Vora. It is the follow-up to Hera Pheri (2000) and the second entry in the Hera Pheri series. Along with Bipasha Basu Rimi Sen Johnny Lever and Rajpal Yadav it features Akshay Kumar Suniel Shetty and Paresh Rawal reprising their roles from the previous movie. 

As the story progresses Raju Shyam and Baburao's lives are changed as they fall victim to fraudster Anuradha. They now need to find another way to pay back the loan they received from the infamous mobster Totla Seth. The movie Lock Stock and Two Smoking Barrels from 1998 served as the basis for the main narrative. The movie was a hit after its 9 June 2006 release.

Cirkus (2022)

Rohit Shetty is the director and producer of the 2022 Hindi-language historical comedy film Cirkus. Rohit Shetty Productionz and T-Series collaborated to produce the movie. Along with Pooja Hegde and Jacqueline Fernandez the movie stars Ranveer Singh and Varun Sharma in separate roles. 

In this movie after discovering two sets of identical twins at his orphanage's front door Dr. Roy Jamnadas confuses them and sends them away for adoption to two separate families in two different cities. Years later when one set of twins decides to visit the city where the other set of twins operates a circus things go horribly wrong when locals mistake them for the other set of twins.

Shakespeare's The Comedy of Errors served as the inspiration for the play Cirkus. The movie's principal photography started in November 2020 in Mumbai and also happened in Ooty. On December 23 2022 Cirkus was released in theatres to mixed reviews from audiences and critics.

Thanks to Akshay Kumar's comic timing and the supporting performances of Rawal Lever and Yadav the movie has developed a cult following over the years that span generations. It is currently regarded as a comedy film milestone and one of the best sequels ever created
