Sunidhi Chauhan is a playback singer from India. She began performing in neighborhood gatherings at the age of 5 and made her professional debut at the age of 13 with the film Shastra (1996). During the year she won Meri Awaz Suno the first singing reality show and came to popularity after recording Ruki Ruki Si Zindagi from Mast (1999). It earned her the Filmfare RD Burman Award for New Music Talent as well as a nomination for Best Female Playback Singer. She is well-known for her vocal versatility.
In addition to playback singing Chauhan has appeared as a judge on various television reality shows and in music videos. Aside from her singing profession she has been involved in a number of charities and societal issues. She has appeared four times in India's Forbes Celebrity 100. (2012–2015).

Chauhan began performing at competitions and small gatherings at the age of four and was later persuaded to take singing seriously by her father's friends. During that time she was doing live events and trained herself with regular riyaaz by listening to cassettes and CDs of popular music.
When Tabassum saw her she made her sing live on her show Tabassum Hit Parade and asked her family to relocate to Mumbai. She thereafter introduced Chauhan to Kalyanji and Anandji Virji Shah. When they first met Kalyanji changed her name from Nidhi to Sunidhi because he thought it was a lucky name. Her father quit his work and brought her to Mumbai when she was 11 years old. After working on the music video Pehla Nasha Chauhan married director and choreographer Bobby Khan (brother of choreographer and director Ahmed Khan) in 2002 at the age of 18.
