Biography 

Sharib Hashmi is an Indian actor who made his debut with the Oscar-winning film, Slumdog Millionaire (2008). He was also seen in the National award-winning film, Filmistaan (2012) and also received appreciation for his role in Jab Tak Hai Jaan (2012). Hasmi`s other movies include Badmashiyaan - Fun Never Ends (2015), Phullu (2017), Nakkash (2019), Fastey Fasaatey (2019) and Ujda Chaman (2019). His 2020 releases include Gul Makai, My Client`s Wife, Ram Singh Charlie and Darbaan.

Childhood

Sharib aspired to be a movie hero since he was a child. However, as he grew older, he began to doubt himself, unsure if he had the looks or charisma to make it in the profession. Despite these reservations, his passion for films and the entertainment industry never wavered.

Sharib attended St. John's Model English High School before graduating from Bhavan's College in Mumbai, India.

Sharib has always been very close to his family. He had a media-influenced background as his father was a Film Journalist . Sharib’s father’s name was Z. A. Johar. He also has a brother whose name is Aquil Hashmi.

Wife

On December 27, 2003, Sharib married Nasreen Hashmi. The couple has two children, a boy and a girl. Their daughter’s name is Inaaya and their son’s name is Shayaan.

Struggle 

Sharib believed that he had always wanted to be a hero, but as time passed, he began worrying about his appearance and demeanor. He says he always wanted to be a hero, but as he got older, Sharib gave up the thoughts of becoming an actor. He assumed that the only roles he could acquire at Rajshri Productions were as a driver or a servant because Sharib didn't think he had that personality and that’s why he, initially, gave up on his dream to become an actor.

Career

Sharib worked on MTV Roadies Season 2 behind the scenes. He starred in the Oscar-winning film Slumdog Millionaire in 2008. In 2012, he co-starred in Filmistaan with Inaamulhaq and Kumud Mishra. In Jab Tak Hai Jaan, he played a supporting role with Shahrukh Khan, Anushka Sharma, and Katrina Kaif. Later in his career, he appeared in films like Badmashiyaan (2015), Phullu Phullu (2017), Vodka Diaries (2018), Batti Gul Metre Chalu (2018), Nakkash (2019), Ujda Chaman (2019), Darbaan (2020), and Vikram Vedha (2022).

Sharib Hashmi also worked in the Amazon Prime production hit series The Family Man and the Voot Select blockbuster Asur. He participated in the television series A Viral Wedding, Scam 1992, and other advertisements, television online series, and films in 2020.

Slumdog Millionaire is a 2008 British drama film based on Indian novelist Vikas Swarup's novel Q & A (2005). It tells the narrative of Jamal Malik, an 18-year-old from Mumbai's Juhu slums. The film was directed by Danny Boyle, written by Simon Beaufoy, and produced by Christian Colson, with Loveleen Tandan credited as co-director. It starred Dev Patel in his feature debut as Jamal and was shot in India. Jamal astounds everyone by successfully answering every question and earning 2 crore ($460,000). Batti Gul Meter Chalu

Batti Gul Metre Chalu is a 2018 Indian drama film directed by Shree Narayan Singh and produced by Bhushan Kumar, Nitin Chandrachud, Nishant Pitti, and Krishan Kumar. The film stars Shahid Kapoor, Shraddha Kapoor, Divyendu Sharma, and Yami Gautam and explores the narrative of exaggerated electricity bills in rural India. Sharib played the role of Vikas in the movie.

Zara Hatke Zara Bachke

Zara Hatke Zara Bachke is a 2023 Hindi-language romantic comedy film directed and co-written by Laxman Utekar and produced by Maddock Films and Jio Studios. It was released on June 2, 2023, and stars Vicky Kaushal and Sara Ali Khan. Sharib’s character’s name is  Daroga Raghuvanshi.

Asur

Asur is a Hindi-language mystery, mythology, and crime thriller Indian web series created for OTT platforms. The series follows a team of forensic professionals as they attempt to apprehend a serial killer who believes he is a reincarnation of the asura Kali. Arshad Warsi and Sharib Hashmi appear in the film, which also stars Anupriya Goenka, Ridhi Dogra, and Amey Wagh. Sharib Hashmi starred in the first season, and Meiyang Chang and Abhishek Chauhan joined the ensemble in the second.
