Shahbaz Ahmed represents the Bengal cricket team in domestic cricket despite being a Haryana native. On September 20 2018 Ahmed made his List-A debut at Chennai against the Jammu and Kashmir squad. In his first encounter he returned on 1/22.

Ahmed soon played against Hyderabad on his first-class debut. In that match he contributed 27 runs and one wicket for his team. On February 24 2019 in Cuttack versus Haryana Shahbaz played his first T20 match. In addition to picking up one wicket once more he made a crucial 12-ball 17 in the lower order to help his team win the game by three wickets.

Shahbaz has so far participated in 13 first-class games and amassed 559 runs including four half-centuries. Additionally he has taken 37 first-class wickets at a 2.60 economy rate.
