Ravi Sargun's then-dating boyfriend surprised her in December 2012 by planning a filmy proposal on the sets of Nach Baliye 5. Ravi Dubey got down on one knee and proposed with a solitaire ring.

Of course Sargun Mehta replied 'YES!' The couple married the following year on December 7 2013. Sargun Mehta and Ravi Dubey have been married for nine years.

Sargun recalled her first meeting with Ravi the man of her dreams during a conversation. The actress stated that her love for her husband remains the same after 9 years of marriage. She stated '

When asked if entering the small screen was difficult for her Sargun Mehta replied  'I would say getting into the TV industry was a cakewalk ' Sargun responds. I went to the auditions just to have fun with my friends and ended up getting the part. The real challenge begins after you enter. 

Surviving in showbiz is a major struggle there is a lot of competition and if you're out of sight you're out of mind. As a result you must make your presence known and be prepared for a hectic schedule of 14-15 hour shifts. After five years of rushing it feels slightly better to me now.

Sargun Mehta began acting in college theatre productions and later moved into television roles making her screen debut in 2009 with Zee TV's 12/24 Karol Bagh. Colors TV's drama series Phulwa was a game-changer in her career earning her critical acclaim.

Sargun Mehta was praised for her supporting performances in the 2009 series 12/24 Karol Bagh and the 2013 series Balika Vadhu. She was also the host of the dance competition show Boogie Woogie Kids Championship.

Mehta made her feature film debut in 2015 with the Punjabi romantic comedy Angrej which became the second highest-grossing Punjabi film of the year. She played Dhann Kaur a member of an aristocratic family in pre-partitioned Punjab. 

For her performance in the film she received the PTC Punjabi Film Award for Best Actress. Since then Mehta has appeared in several successful Punjabi films including the dramas Love Punjab (2016) and Lahoriye (2017).

Sargun reunited with Ammy Virk in 2021 for Qismat 2 the sequel to 2018 hit Qismat. In the film she reprised her role as Baani. Saunkan Saunkne starring Ammy Virk and Nimrat Khaira will be released in 2022.
