Saqib Saleem Qureshi is an Indian actor and model who was born on April 8, 1988. He works in Hindi films. Before he got into movies, he worked as a model. After Qureshi moved to Mumbai, he was in a number of ads. While he was doing TV commercials, he became interested in movies and started trying out for movie roles. Eventually, he signed a two-film acting deal with Y-Films, a branch of Yash Raj Films.
Qureshi played the main role in the 2011 romantic comedy Mujhse Fraaandship Karoge, which did well at the box office. Because of how well he did in the movie, he was nominated for a Filmfare Award in the Best Male Debut category. The next year, he finished his two-film deal with Y-Films by being in Mere Dad Ki Maruti, a romantic comedy that did well at the box office and with critics. After that, he played a closeted gay person in a segment of Karan Johar's experimental anthology Bombay Talkies (2013). The action thriller Race 3 (2018) was his highest-grossing movie to date.
In addition to acting in movies, Qureshi is involved in charity work, has a number of endorsement deals, and plays for the Mumbai Heroes in India's non-professional men's cricket league, the Celebrity Cricket League. The actor's interest in stand-up comedy has grown lately because he's going to be in Comedy Couple, a romantic comedy with Shweta Basu Prasad that takes place in Gurgaon, where the stand-up comedy scene is growing.
Saqib Saleem Qureshi was born on 8 April 1988 in New Delhi, India. He is 35 years old as of 2023. His zodiac sign is Aries.
Saqib Saleem was born in the Indian city of Delhi. During college, Saqib helped run the restaurants for a short time, but he didn't like it. Even though his father wanted him to stay in Delhi and get a Master of Business Administration degree, Saqib had already started modeling by that time, so he moved to Mumbai.
Saqib's first job was playing cricket for Delhi and Jammu & Kashmir. Saqib has always played cricket and has never thought about becoming an actor. Saleem started out in Mumbai by doing a few modeling jobs. He then moved on to TV commercials for brands like Pepsi, Lays (with actor Ranbir Kapoor), Tata Docomo, Bar One, KFC, Airtel, Sprite, and others. Saqib's interest in acting grew as he worked on the ads, so he started trying out for roles in Bollywood movies. Varun Bahl, a fashion designer and one of his best friends, helped him get a chance to try out for Yash Raj Films. It was hard work, he says. After trying out for eight months, he got the lead role in the romantic comedy Mujhse Fraaandship Karoge, made by Y-Films.
Saqib Saleem’s father, Saleem Qureshi, owns and runs a chain of 10 restaurants in Delhi called Saleem's. Ameena Qureshi, his mother, works at home. He has three brothers: Naeem Qureshi and Haseen Qureshi. His sister is Huma Qureshi, who is also an actress by profession.
Both Saqib and Swati were just starting out in their careers when they met one another through the YRF project - Mujhse Fraaandship Karoge. Swati has worked on films such as Fan, Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania, and Ki & Ka. They eventually began their relationship as friends, but as time went on, their attraction to each other grew, and they eventually began dating each other. It is known that Saqib has gradually begun acknowledging his relationship with Swati among his close friends, despite the fact that neither of them has made their romantic connection known to the general public.
In 2010, one of Saqib Saleem’s friends told him that Yash Raj Films (YRF), a company that makes Bollywood films, was looking for new faces. Saleem was interested, so he went to try out. But it took 8-9 months before he heard from the production company that he had been chosen. Mujhse Fraaandship Karoge, a romantic comedy set on the social networking site Facebook, was the movie he was chosen for. It was Nupur Asthana's first film as a director. The love story in Mujhse Fraaandship Karoge takes place on Facebook, where the main characters change their names to make their partners fall in love with them. The movie was released by Y-Films, which is a branch of YRF. It starred newcomers Nishant Dahiya and Saba Azad, as well as Saleem and Tara D'Souza. Saleem had to play the part of Vishal Bhatt, a college prankster who, with his friend Hacky, keeps pulling pranks on his friends. Saleem said that he did it because he liked the script.
Saleem starred in the Y-Films comedy Mere Dad Ki Maruti, directed by Ashima Chibber, alongside Rhea Chakraborty. The movie is about a Punjabi wedding. Saleem plays a boy who steals his father's car to impress a girl, but things don't go as planned. In 2013, the experimental anthology film Bombay Talkies came out. It was made up of four short films. Saleem was in Karan Johar's Ajeeb Dastaan Hai Yeh segment, along with Rani Mukerji and Randeep Hooda. He played the part of Avinash, a young gay man who is in love with the husband of his co-worker. In 2018, he made his first appearance on OTT with the ZEE5 Original web series Rangbaaz, in which he played a notorious gangster. The series was based on a true story. In 2020, he played a RAW agent in the spy thriller web series Crackdown, which was made by Voot.
The plot of the movie is that India's best cricketer, Viraj Sharma, goes missing 48 hours before the final match between India and Pakistan, which is taking place in the Middle East. Indian authorities get a videotape of an unknown man saying that he kidnapped Viraj until the India vs. Pakistan cricket match two days later and warning them not to cancel the match. Gayatri Shubha Mishra, India's External Affairs Minister, sends Kabir Shergill IPS, a member of a special task force, to the U.A.E. for a 36-hour manhunt to keep the media from getting upset. After being met by a local officer, Saeed Naqvi, and getting into a bit of a fight with him, Kabir, a no-nonsense cop, runs into a rookie Indo-Emirati cop named Junaid Ansari. Ansari has never been able to solve a case, but he knows the town well from his first unfinished case, which was to find a dog named Bradman. Kabir and Junaid start their search for Viraj by looking at CCTV footage from his hotel. They learn that the night he went missing, Viraj went out with a local girl named Samira Dalal. When they talk to her, they find out that she took Viraj to a party for a friend's birthday, but he left soon after.
Race 3 is an Indian action-crime movie that came out in 2018 and was made by Tips Industries and Salman Khan Films. It was directed by Remo D'Souza and written by Kiran Kotrial and Shiraz Ahmed. Anil Kapoor, Salman Khan, Bobby Deol, Jacqueline Fernandez, Daisy Shah, Saqib Saleem, and Freddy Daruwala all have parts in the movie. It is the last movie in the Race movie series, which began with Race in 2008 and continued with Race 2 in 2013. The plots of the three movies are only loosely connected.
The plot of the movie shows that Shamsher Singh is a powerful Indian arms dealer in Abu Dhabi who owns a private island called Al-Shifa for trading arms. Shamsher's stepson is Sikander Singh, whose nickname is Sikku. Shamsher's assistant, Yash, is a close friend and works in Shamsher's empire. Raghuvendra Raghu Singh is Shamsher's personal assistant and a close friend. In a scene that goes back in time, we learn that Rana Singha is Shamsher's business rival and that he causes problems for Shamsher's family and business. When Shamsher's children, Sanjana and Sooraj, turn 25, their family lawyer goes over their mother's will. According to the will, each of the twins gets 25% of the property and shares, for a total of 50%. The other 50% goes to Sikander. Since Shamsher liked Sikander more than the twins, this makes the twins hate Sikander even more. Shamsher tells them both that Sikander is the son of Shamsher's older brother, Ranchor Singh, who was the CEO of Al-Shifa and Shamsher's older brother.
The movie starts with a black-and-white scene from the final of the 1983 Cricket World Cup, which India and West Indies played on June 25, 1983. India is fielding during the second innings, and Madan Lal throws a ball towards Viv Richards, who is on strike. Kapil Dev catches the ball after Richards throws it into the air for a six. Then, on May 30, 1983, at the BCCI office in Mumbai, an invitation to the Cricket World Cup is sent to the BCCI officials. The captaincy is taken away from Sunil Gavaskar and given to Kapil Dev. The cricket players on the team, like Dev, Mohinder Amarnath, Kirti Azad, Madan Lal, and Sunil Valson, are already in England playing County Cricket.
