Best of Saif Ali Khan's Movies

Dil Chahta Hai (2001)

How can we talk about Saif Ali Khan's films without mentioning our favourite Dil Chahta Hai? Farhan Akhtar's 2001 film is still regarded as one of the best coming-of-age romantic comedies. This film was a success because of its excellent storytelling and outstanding performances.

The story revolves around three close friends and how they deal with love and relationships and stars Saif Ali Khan  Aamir Khan Akshaye Khanna Dimple Kapadia Preity Zinta and Sonali Kulkarni. The fantastic acting touching plot and amazing songs are what make Dil Chahta Hai a great film. Three young men named Akash Sameer and Siddharth are close friends but their tastes and personalities are diametrically opposed. Akash is a carefree individual who does not believe in love. Sameer is always ready for love but he doesn't understand what it really means. Siddharth is the most solemn of the three.

He is sensitive understanding and caring making him the ideal man for any girl. As a result when Siddharth falls in love with a much older woman Tara a woman who has been unsuccessful in keeping her marriage intact as well as an alcoholic widens the rift between the three forcing them to part ways. Years later the trio will be re-united much more mature and understanding but will they still accept Siddharth's love for Tara especially when they themselves have fallen in love with women their own age? They are all convinced that they are now mature men who must think maturely.

Saif Ali Khan's first girlfriend in the film, Priya, dominates her relatively short screen time with her possessive attitude. She is played by Suchitra Pillai, who is available to give personalised video messages. These can be for birthdays, anniversaries and many more. Hum Tum (2004)

Hum Tum starring Saif Ali Khan and Rani Mukherjee is a lighthearted and fun romantic film that has become one of the most entertaining films to date. The plot revolves around Karan (Saif Ali Khan) and Rhea (Rani Mukherjee) who meet on a plane but end up hating each other.

When their paths cross their hatred transforms into respect then friendship and finally love. The fantastic chemistry between the two actors was unmistakable in this film. Life is not always as it appears in movies. It is not always possible to fall in love at first sight. A relationship often takes many years to develop from boy meets girl to boy gets girl.

Hum Tum is a new take on the eternal battle of the sexes following the lives of Karan (Saif Ali Khan) and Rhea (Rani Mukerji). Karan is a cartoonist and his characters Hum and Tum reflect his take on men and women's strange love-hate relationship. Rhea is sensitive well-bred and self-assured. She can give as good as she gets and isn't afraid to challenge men. At first glance, the two have very little in common.

But as fate would have it their paths continue to cross and their relationship evolves over the course of a decade from hatred to mutual respect friendship and finally - in a cinematic universe that offers simplistic scenarios to the complex relationship between men and women. Hum Tum is a fresh look at every man's and every woman's trials and tribulations as well as their attempts to understand one another.

Vishal Bhardwaj's bold decision to cast an ensemble cast in Omkara an Indian adaptation of William Shakespeare's Othello was a brave move. Saif Ali Khan Ajay Devgn Kareena Kapoor Konkona Sen Sharma Vivek Oberoi and Bipasha Basu played the lead roles flawlessly.

The plot revolves around how motivated by ego and jealousy he manipulates Ajay Devgn's character into suspecting his wife of adultery. No one survives the ensuing bloodbath which has tragic consequences all around.

Love Aaj Kal (2009)

Imtiaz Ali's Love Aaj Kal which starred Deepika Padukone Saif Ali Khan Rishi Kapoor and Giselli Monteiro was a breath of fresh air. The film alternates between two love stories one set in the present day and one set in 1965. The plot revolves around Jai Vardhan Singh (Saif Ali Khan) and Meera Pandit (Deepika Padukone) who fall in love but eventually split up.

Restaurateur Veer Singh (Rishi Kapoor) then tries to persuade Jai to pursue Meera in the same way that he pursued Harleen Kaur in the past. The audience enjoyed this contemporary love story and not only the plot but also the songs in the film. London-based Meera Pandit and Jai Vardhan Singh meet and fall in love and she introduces him to her family.

Soon after they decide to split up; she wants to move to India to restore heritage buildings while he wants to move to America. Not only was the chemistry between the cast and their performances fantastic but this film is definitely worth watching in its entirety.

When the three friends arrive they are invited to a rave party on a remote island; at the party, a drug is consumed and the next morning everything goes horribly wrong. The plot then shifts to the three friends and Boris (Saif Ali Khan) a zombie hunter attempting to save themselves.

The cast did an excellent job and Saif Ali Khan's accent was spot on. Luv (Vir Das) and Hardik (Kunal Khemu) two friends are going through a rough patch. Luv has discovered that his girlfriend has been cheating on him and Hardik is on the verge of losing his job. They are both in desperate need of a vacation so when their roommate Bunny (Anand Tiwari) informs them that he is going to Goa for a presentation they seize the opportunity. Luv meets Luna (Pooja Gupta) in Goa who invites him to a rave party organized by the Russian mafia on a remote island. An experimental drug is introduced at the party. Then in the morning, everything goes horribly wrong for the three helpless guys and the girl. The untested drug it turns out has a deadly side effect.

Jawaani Jaaneman (2020)

The film is directed by Nitin Kakkar and stars Saif Ali Khan Alaya F and Tabu. It is a great film to watch if you want to watch something heartfelt and light. This film is very engaging and appealing which the audience appreciated. So if you haven't seen Jawaani Jaaneman you're definitely missing out. Adipurush

Adipurush is a captivating 2023 Indian mythological action film that borrows its roots from the grand Hindu epic, Ramayana. A star-studded ensemble featuring Prabhas, Saif Ali Khan, Kriti Sanon, Sunny Singh, and Devdutta Nage, brings this epic tale to life, bringing their characters with complexity and remarkable depth.

The film's release was preceded by an exciting official motion poster in August 2020, and principal photography subsequently began in February 2021 in Mumbai, famously wrapping up in November 2021. The music for the film, which is an integral part of the narrative, is beautifully composed by Ajay–Atul.

Adipurush made significant waves even before its release, due to its staggering budget of between ₹500 crore (US$63 million) and ₹700 crore (US$88 million), making it one of the most expensive Indian films ever produced.

The movie takes the viewer on an epic journey back to a time when celestial creatures and demigods roamed the earth. The narrative focuses on the conflict between the rakshasa (demon) king of Lanka, known as Lankesh, and a warrior prince Raghava from the kingdom of Ayodhya, who later is known as Lord Rama.

Through a series of thrilling events and epic showdowns, the movie follows the journey of Raghava, his wife Janaki, and his brother Shesh as they come to face the demon king, Lankesh. This elaborate narrative is driven by eternal themes of righteousness, courage, redemption, and the triumph of good over evil, the defining principles of the legendary Ramayana.

The film's reception, despite its solid premise and storytelling, was unfortunately mixed. Critics voiced concerns over the screenplay, dialogue, and visuals, leading to its underwhelming performance at the box office. Nevertheless, it stands as an ambitious endeavour to merge mythology and history, showcasing an unmistakable promise in this fledgling genre within the Indian cinematic landscape.

A user commented Bollywood films are currently being boycotted because of such sentiments. When your movie's release date is approaching it is better to Google How do we respect Indian culture? and the hashtag #BoycottVikramVedha.

Another person however remarked Khub Kahi!! Nam Ram nahi rakh sakte lekin do do Hindu ladkiyon se shadi kar sakte hai!
