Paresh Rawal is a Gujarati-born Indian actor who hails from Mumbai and Bollywood. He made his cinematic debut in 1984, and during the 1980s and 1990s, he primarily portrayed villains and supporting characters. He has primarily acted in comedic roles since 2000.

Paresh was born in the Indian state of Gujarat at Paliad. Paresh Rawal is wed to actress Swaroop Sampat, who took first place in the 1979 Miss India pageant. Aditya and Aniruddh are the names of Paresh and Swaroop's two sons. In Vile Parle, Mumbai, the Narsee Monjee Institute of Management and Higher Studies is where Paresh Rawal graduated. At the age of 22, Paresh Rawal thereafter relocated to Mumbai, India.

In the film, Hera Pheri Rawal plays the dimwitted boisterous and kind-hearted Marathi landlord Baburao Ganpatrao Apte who accepts Raju (Akshay Kumar) and Shyam (Sunil Shetty) as paying tenants. Rawal's performance was a major reason for the film's widespread success. He won the Filmfare Best Comedian Award for his performance. He reprised his role as Baburao in the sequel to the successful film Phir Hera Pheri (2006).

PlayIn the popular 2002 movie Aankhen which also starred Amitabh Bachchan Aditya Pancholi Akshay Kumar Arjun Rampal and Sushmita Sen Rawal played one of three blind bank robbers.
