She later worked with Amjad-Nadeem a musical duet and sang the songs Naughty No. 1 and Daaru Peeke Dance for the films Barkhaa and Kuch Kuch Locha Hai respectively. Tu Isaq Mera a song by Meet Bros from Hate Story 3 was performed by Kakkar. Tukur Tukur from Dilwale was her final release of the year. It featured Arijit Singh Kanika Kapoor Siddharth Mahadevan and Nakash Aziz. She co-starred with Shilpa Shetty in Amaal Malik's Wedding Da Season video single that same year. Tony Kakkar created wrote and co-sang the well-known song Mile Ho Tum from the movie Fever which she performed in 2016. The song which is recognized as the most-watched Bollywood song on YouTube was well-received by both audiences and critics.

Neha Kakkar performed the wedding song Kala Chashma which became the party anthem of the year for the Baar Baar Dekho soundtrack CD. The first of many collaborations between Neha Kakkar and Tanishk Bagchi in 2017 led to the remake of a number of Bollywood songs in the following years. With Dev Negi Ikka Singh and Monali Thakur they sang Badri Ki Dulhania from Badrinath Ki Dulhania which contains a few passages taken from the Shankar-Jaikishen classic Chalat Musafir from Teesri Kasam (1966). With over 500 million views the version quickly rose to the top of the charts among the audience and was listed among the top Indian videos on YouTube.The duo then released Cheez Badi from Machine a remake of the 1994 Mohra song Tu Cheez Badi Hai Mast Mast which received mixed reviews from reviewers. 

The dance song Main Tera Boyfriend from Raabta a remake of the non-film single Na Na Na Na was her subsequent release. With Judwaa 2 she sang two remake songs (co-written by Sandeep Shirodkar and Anu Malik) and one original song (created by Meet Bros.) continuing the trend. In the sixth season of the Indian television music competition Sa Re Ga Ma Pa L'il Champs she made an appearance as a judge alongside Himesh Reshammiya and Javed Ali. Another song from Fukrey Returns Mehbooba which Mohammed Rafi originally sang for Dharam Veer was remade to cap off the year (1977).

Yo Yo Honey Singh's Chhote Chhote Peg from Sonu Ke Tittu Ki Sweety a reworking of the Anand Raj Anand song Tote Tote Ho Gaya from Bichhoo was Neha Kakkar's first release of 2018. (2000). The next song was Bagchi's rendition of Aashiq Banaya Apne which was originally sung by Himesh Reshammiya and Shreya Ghoshal and was featured on the soundtrack album for Hate Story 4. The pair worked together on five additional projects two of which saw the success of Dilbar from Satyameva Jayate and Aankh Marey from Simmba among music fans. The pattern persisted with the inclusion of the song Gali Gali in the Hindi dub of the Kannada movie K.G.F: Chapter 1. Three remake songs written in partnership with Bagchi were released at the start of the year: Chamma Chamma a song from the 1998 film China Gate that was redone for the movie Fraud Saiyyan; Coca Cola Tu from Luka Chuppi; and Hauli Hauli from De De Pyaar De. Her maiden collaboration with Vishal Mishra and Vishal-Shekhar took place in the year and it was favorably appreciated by critics. She sang the female rendition of Ki Honda Pyaar from Jabariya Jodi for the former and The Hook Up Song for the latter.

For two more top-charting singles O Saki Saki from Batla House and Ek Toh Kum Zindagani from Marjaavaan Kakkar Bagchi and dancer Nora Fatehi reunited. The former is a remake of Saaki which Sukhwinder Singh and Sunidhi Chauhan first sang in the Musafir film.
