His house was destroyed during the communal riots causing his family to face numerous challenges in order to survive. Munawar's mother committed suicide when he was only 16 years old.

After that, his father became dissatisfied with his turbulent life in Junagadh and relocated to Dongri Mumbai. His father attempted to start over after moving to Dongri Mumbai in 2007. However, his father died on the bed in 2008 leaving Faruqui with the responsibility of marrying her three sisters.

Munawar Faruqui then began selling utensils in a shop to make a living. He used to work in the shop selling utensils during the day and attend computer classes at night. He worked as a graphic designer in an agency after finishing a computer course. During that time he discovered that he was an expert in coming up with funny lines for posters. He later decided to pursue a career as a stand-up comedian.

Munawar Faruqui began working on the open mic after being influenced by standup comedy and his family members encouraged him to do the work of his choice. When his popularity grew and people began approaching him for selfies and praising his talent he realised that stand-up comedy could be a full-time job.

Finally, in July 2019, he performed Dodh Dahyo his first one-hour Gujarati show in Malad Mumbai. In January 2020 he began uploading standup comedy videos to his self-titled YouTube channel which quickly grew in popularity.
