At the beginning of his career, Kunwar Amar competed on the Indian reality dance show "Dance India Dance" and made it to the finals. It was then that he played the major part of Reyansh Singhania in India's dance-based teen drama Dil Dosti Dance.

His name was on the group Dare 2 Dance, a reality show on Life OK in September 2014 that was about dance and stunts. He and Charlie Chauhan were also on the popular dance show Nach Baliye 5. He has done scenes for the TV shows Pyaar Tune Kya Kiya on Zee and Yeh Hai Aashiqui on Bindass. In 2016, he played Aladdin on the famous TV show Naamkaran.

Dil Dost Dance 

The Indian TV show D3: Dil Dosti Dance debuted on April 11, 2011, on Channel V. The show has been on Indian TV for four years and 857 episodes, making it the longest-running youth-focused show and the first dance-based fantasy show.

It's mostly about how the kids at St. Louis College find friendship, love, and dance. It has major parts played by Kunwar Amar, Shantanu Maheshwari, Sneha Kapoor, Shakti Mohan, Vrushika Mehta, and Vrinda Dawda. The Indian Telly Awards gave Shantanu Maheshwari and Vrushika Mehta the On-Screen Couple of the Year award, and the show won the Best Youth Show – Fiction award and the Best New Talent award. The show also won the Jury Award for Best Choreographer. In this series, Kunwar Amar played the role of Reyansh Singhaniya who is called as Rey in the series. He is Kria's boyfriend and Taani's ex-boyfriend. He also plays a pivotal role as the best friend to both Swayam and Sharon.

The judges are called Masters, and until season 6, Mithun Chakraborty was called Grand Master. The first episode of Season 7 had a different idea. This show is a copy of the Bengali show Dance Bangla Dance, which first aired in 2007. After three seasons of Dance Bangla Dance went well, Zed TV made a new version of the show for people all over India. Nach Baliye is an Indian Hindi language-based show show. It is a celebrity dance reality television series that you can see on Star Plus.  It's kind of like Dancing With The Stars. Ten famous couples from TV talk shows battle against each other on the show. Every week, the dancers have to do something different with the music, the theme, and the style. The judges give them points. Every week, one couple is sent home based on public votes and their grades.

Kunwar Amar was the part of the 5 season of Nach Baliye. He was paired up with Charlie Chauhan. Their team was eliminated on 9 March 2013.
