Tricolour Controversy (2012)

Gehna Vashisht a model and aspiring Bollywood actor was allegedly attacked in Mumbai while wearing a tricolour wrapped around her waist and a bikini top by several unidentified social activists.On the day of the alleged assault on Gehna her publicist picked up a few individuals lingering outside the Oshiwara police station among them Shantabai Pawar a woman who lustily protested and even flung some stones in exchange for Rs 300 for five minutes. 

The protesters start throwing stones at the car just on cue. One of the men instinctively hits his forehead in regret after shattering the rear windscreen. If the attack had been real Gehna should have stayed put and driven away but instead she came out to greet the party. Then Shantabai came out and chastised her for disrespecting the honour of the flag. Gehna returned to her car after a few periods of time and made a show of wiping the blood from her chin where the stone had grazed her.

The unknown model had earlier participated in a picture shoot while decked out in a bikini with the national flag slung around her waist. The Prevention of Insult to National Honour Act of 1971 makes wearing the national flag as apparel a crime which could be mentioned.
