He then enrolled at BITS Pilani in Dubai to pursue a degree in engineering. However, he was not satisfied and wished to attend IIT India's premier engineering college. So he began studying for the JEE exam and received a rank of 184 on his first attempt. Gaurav Taneja enrolled at IIT Kharagpur to study civil engineering in 2004.

Gaurav Taneja stopped going to the gym and devoted all of his time to studying. Gaurav tried for an MBA while in his final year of engineering but he didn't pursue it because he wasn't interested. He pursued his passion for bodybuilding here and graduated in 2008.

During their pilot training, Gaurav Taneja and Ritu Rathee met. They both worked for the same airline and began training for their high-profile positions. However, Gaurav was a higher-ranking employee than Ritu Rathee. Both of them met each other during this training. Ritu had a crush on Gaurav when he first saw him.

Ritu was the one who tried to move the relationship forward after that. Ritu then gathered more information about Gaurav. Then she contacted Gaurav via social media. Ritu initiated this love story in this manner. They soon began communicating through social media. They quickly become great friends with one another.

The connection was obvious because they shared a common interest and worked in the same field. They both decided to get married after dating for almost a decade with the support of their families. They are both happily married couples and proud parents. Following their marriage they were both blessed with a baby girl. Rasbari is the name of their adored daughter and she is a delightful child. Gaurav Taneja and his pilot-wife Ritu Rathi welcomed their second child on October 22, 2021. Pihu (Chaitravi Taneja) is her given name.

Career

Career in Aviation

Gaurav Taneja pursued his childhood dream of becoming a pilot after graduating. Because no one in his family was a pilot his father initially opposed his decision to become one. However, he persuaded his father to let him pursue his dream of becoming a pilot and travel to the United States for training.

He returned to India in 2009 and had his foreign private pilot's licence converted to an Indian private pilot's certificate but due to the severe global recession, he was unable to find work as a pilot.

Career As A Flight Instructor

After failing to find work as a pilot Gaurav Taneja accepted a position as a flight instructor at Alpha Aviation Group. He was able to obtain this position due to his flight instructor licence. Gaurav couldn't go to the gym and pursue his passion for bodybuilding while working as an instructor because he was always looking for a job as a pilot.

Finally, in 2011 he was hired as a pilot and assigned to Bengaluru where he resumed his fitness regimen and began going to the gym. Gaurav Taneja was then assigned as captain in Chennai. He began his career with IndiGo before moving on to AirAsia.

Career As A Bodybuilding Professional

Gaurav Taneja visited Delhi in 2012 to watch a bodybuilding competition in which one of his friends competed. He was astounded to see thousands of people cheering for his friend. This is when he decided to compete in bodybuilding contests. A year later in September 2013 Gaurav Taneja won gold in his first-ever bodybuilding competition.

For the next two years, he competed professionally in numerous bodybuilding competitions winning several gold medals. He did all of this while working full-time as an airline pilot. He also obtained personal trainer and nutritionist certifications.

Career As A Social Media Celebrity

Gaurav Taneja's friend once put a live stream of him exercising on Facebook while he was working out in a gym. Several of his friends enjoyed his video. As a result, they began to request that Gaurav Taneja create additional videos to explain the process.

Then he started posting videos on his Facebook page on a regular basis in order to reach as many people as possible. In 2016 he launched his FitMuscle TV YouTube channel which featured his fitness-related videos.
