Anurag Kashyap is an Indian film director writer producer and actor. He was born on September 10 1972 in Gorakhpur Uttar Pradesh India. He started his career as a screenwriter in the late 1990s and worked on several successful Bollywood films. In 1997 he co-founded a production company called Phantom Films.

Kassyap gained recognition as a filmmaker with his critically acclaimed film 'Black Friday' (2007) which was based on the 1993 Mumbai bombings.
