Twenty-one-year-old Manav, a simple mechanic, develops feelings for her. Manav's mom, Savita, tells Archana's mom, Sulochana, that her son is a mechanical engineer so that he can marry her daughter. Upon Archana and Manav's marriage, her family finds out that Manav is just a mechanic.

Archana and Manav develop romantic feelings for one another. Sadly, Manav's brother Sachin was killed in a car accident while his fiancee, Shravani, was expecting their first child together. Archana and Manav decide to end their marriage so that Sachin and Shravani's unborn child can have a better life. The wedding between Manav and Shravani is set in stone, and Archana departs Mumbai for college.
