Instead of enacting the scripted action, he tightly hugged Kristen Jain, surprising both her and the audience. The unexpected gesture led to the curtains being brought down immediately, ending the performance prematurely.

This unique incident eventually sparked a connection between Adil and Kristen. Over the years, their bond grew stronger, and they eventually got married in 2007, eight years after their memorable encounter during the Edinburgh Film Festival. Their love story became an unforgettable part of their journey as actors and a testament to the magic that can unfold on and off the stage.

Career

After completing his drama courses at the National School of Drama and Drama Studio London, Adil Hussain returned to Assam and began his acting journey at Hengul Theatre. He spent three years working there before moving back to Delhi. In Delhi, he received training under Khalid Tyabji and Swapan Bose at Sri Aurobindo Ashram in Puducherry, as well as with Dilip Shankar.

Adil Hussain's acting career began with Assamese films like Sutrapaat, Xongkolpo, Pita Putra, and Bhai Bhai. He made his Bengali film debut in 2004 with Iti Srikanta, where he played the lead role of Srikanta in this drama film. Alongside his film roles, Adil also starred in the TV series Jasoos Vijay, which aired from 2002 to 2003.

Hussain gained widespread recognition in Bollywood after his performance in the film Kaminey, directed by Vishal Bhardwaj and starring Shahid Kapoor. Written and directed by Prathamesh Krisang, the 30-minute film centers around 15-year-old Tultul and his three friends. They become inspired to join an extremist group fighting for Assam's independence from the Republic of India. The story delves into themes of hope and the allure of extremist leaders and their alluring promises that lead teenagers astray. Simultaneously, the film showcases the crucial role parents can play in guiding their children towards a better path for change.

One Last Question premiered at multiple national and international film festivals and received acclaim from critics. English Vinglish

English Vinglish is a 2012 Indian Hindi-language comedy-drama film written and directed by Gauri Shinde. The film stars Sridevi as Shashi Godbole, a small entrepreneur known for making snacks and sweets. Shashi, feeling inferior due to her lack of English language skills, enrolls in an English-speaking course to overcome her husband and daughter's mockery. Through the course, she gains self-respect and confidence.

Good Newwz is a 2019 Indian Hindi-language comedy-drama film directed by Raj Mehta and produced by Dharma Productions and Cape of Good Films.
