The International Indian Film Academy Awards, or IIFA, is an annual award show for Bollywood films. IIFA Awards is held for excellence in Indian cinema's cinematic achievements. The winners of Wizcraft International Entertainment Pvt. Ltd.-produced awards are chosen by fans who cast online votes for their preferred Hindi film industry actors.
Since its inception in 2000, the ceremony has occurred annually in various nations. The first presentation for the awards took place in London's Millennium Dome in 2000. From that point forward, the awards ceremonies were staged all over the world, demonstrating Bollywood's success on a global scale.
The South Indian portion of the annual IIFA Awards is the IIFA Utsavam. Around the time of the 2015 film releases, the awards were established in 2016. The first IIFA Utsavam was held on January 24 and 25, 2016, at Hyderabad, India's Gachibowli Athletic Stadium.

The first awards were given out in 2000 at The Millennium Dome in London, United Kingdom. The awards have now been staged all over the world, demonstrating Bollywood's popularity on a global scale. Since 2000, the one-night celebration has grown into a three-day festival that features a variety of events and activities related to the Indian film industry.
These prizes honor motion pictures from the previous year. Amitabh Bachchan has served as the IIFA's brand ambassador since the event's debut. Five new special prizes were added in its tenth year (2009): Director of the Decade, Music of the Decade, Movie of the Decade, and Star of the Decade (Male and Female).

The 22nd International Indian Film Academy Awards, generally known as the IIFA, were held on 3-4 June 2022, after being postponed from the initial dates of 18-19 March 2022 and 19-21 May 2022. It was initially scheduled for 2021 but was postponed a year along with the 2020 (2021) edition due to Covid-19 regulations. The ceremony was conducted in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates. Early in 2022, the nominees were announced.
Shershaah took the top spot in the nominations with 13, followed by 83 with 10 nominations, and Atrangi Re with 7 nominations. Shershaah became the most-awarded movie of the ceremony after winning 6 awards, including Best Film and Best Director (for Vishnuvardhan). For his roles in 83 and Ludo, Pankaj Tripathi received two nominations for Best Supporting Actor, with the latter performance earning him the prize.
