Yeh Un Dinon Ki Baat Hai, also known as "It's the story of those days," was a coming-of-age romance period drama created in the Hindi language by Shashi Sumeet Productions and broadcast on Sony TV. Naina Agarwal and Sameer Maheshwari are played by Ashi Singh and Randeep Rai, respectively. It is centred on a young person's love story, is set in the 1990s, and was inspired by the real-life romance of producers Shashi and Sumeet Mittal. Once it had finished its run and premiere, both critics and viewers had many favourable things to say about it.
The performers and script of the programme have been praised by critics.
The show's cancellation was confirmed in July 2019, and on August 16th, 2019, the final episode aired.
The show will, however, return for a second season at an unspecified time, according to a Sony TV announcement.
The plot takes place in Ahmedabad between the 1980s and 1990s. 16-year-old Naina Agarwal is a student at Pragati Vidya Ka Mandir. She doesn't have her mother and lives with a joint family. Due to his mischievous actions, Sameer Maheshwari, a 17-year-old student, is expelled from his Nainital school. He departs the hostel and goes back to Ahmedabad to visit his paternal grandfather, Jaiprakash Maheshwari. Vishakha, Sameer's mother, wed Vivek Somani after his death, and the two now reside in Delhi. He doesn't get along well with either of them. As a new student at Naina's school, Sameer immediately captures her attention.
When Naina had to oppose him in her capacity as her school's head discipline monitor, Sameer developed a dislike for her. Rakesh, Naina's father and the school's librarian, despises Sameer. Naina believes Sameer to be the exam paper thief in the headboy competition between him and her brother Arjun. A furious Sameer decides to wager his seniors that he can get Naina to say "I Love You" and hug him in order to exact revenge on Rakesh and both Rakesh and Naina. Similarer begins courting Naina. Eventually, Naina re-melts for him.The school chooses to visit Mount Abu after a few months. Sameer learns about Naina's compassion and goodness along the journey. Even though Sameer has a warm spot in his heart for Naina, he is unaware that he is in love with her. Naina ultimately admits her sentiments on the penultimate day of their journey. But when she finds out about the wager, she is crushed and humiliated.
After apologising nonstop for a few days, Sameer begins to feel something for Naina. Now that she despises him, he has no idea what to do. Arjun, Naina's brother, learns about the wager and confronts Sameer. Arjun unintentionally pushes Sameer, breaking his leg in the process.
As a form of retribution, Sameer is required to look after Arjun at their house while he heals. When Naina's cousin Pooja gets married during this time, she quickly extends her forgiveness to him.
After Jaiprakash Maheshwari dies, Sameer must relocate to Delhi. Sameer makes amends with his mother there. Through phone calls and letters, Sameer and Naina maintain their long-distance romance. Their bond is strengthened by this. Sameer believes that he is unlucky for his loved ones as a result of Mr. Somani's mother's harsh statements. His mother recognises his despair and decides to send him back to his buddies as he begins to distance himself from Naina.
After a year, Sameer comes back to Ahmedabad. Joining Naina, Sameer, and their pals at VJN College. When Naina breaks up with Sameer due to the effects of Arjun-friendship Shefali's with her family, their happy days come to an end. She will soon get married to haughty CA Sharad. In order to keep the good memories of their love alive, Sameer and Naina decide to become friends. However, fate has other plans, and as a result of Sharad's aggressive behaviour against Naina's uncle Anand, the alliance is broken by Naina. Anand learns about Sameer and Naina's connection and, after realising Sameer's undying love for Naina, he approves. He pledges to support them throughout their marriage.
After a few months, Sameer and Naina are discovered to be dating and everything goes to hell for them and both of their families. Naina was already rejected by Vishakha because she was too realistic for Sameer. However, she had to speak up for their relationship to be approved by Sameer. Following a nasty incident, Sameer leaves his home and marries Naina on his own. The couple finally gets married with everyone's blessing with the assistance of the friends and the remaining relatives, and they begin living in a separate home that Sameer had purchased for her. But reality came in when disagreements arose between them as a result of their disparate ways of life and perspectives.
Because of their youth and immaturity, their marriage has a difficult beginning. Soon after, Sameer's uncle Kamlesh and his son Devang dismiss him from the family company as well. Then, during a heated argument, Sameer and Naina resolve to improve themselves and make their relationship last despite everything.
The "Samaina boutique," a new company that Sameer and Naina launch, is not successful. When Sameer is cast in a commercial, he discovers his acting potential. They choose to go to Mumbai in order to pursue acting careers. After selling their home, they travelled to Mumbai with Rakesh.
However, it wasn't as simple as they anticipated. They find it difficult to settle down with a stable job. Later, Naina decides to pursue her passion for writing professionally, and Sameer chooses to write to support his wife. Aruna Irani is shown their first tale by them. She broadcasts their serial after accepting their tale. It is effective. They will soon purchase their Mumbai rental home.
Suman Maheshwari is the name of Sameer and Naina's soon-to-be-born daughter. Two years later, Sameer buys Naina's old bungalow in Ahmedabad once more. Even the family members who had become enemies during their marriage are at peace when they return to Ahmedabad. At the 50th anniversary of their school, Naina, Sameer, and all of their pals get together. They think back on the past. Happily, the story comes to a close in 1998. Other important roles are portrayed by Madhushree Sharma and Melanie Nazareth.
