Anees Bazmee and Firoz Nadiadwala's 2007 comedy Welcome is an Indian production in the Hindi language. Feroz Khan, Anil Kapoor, Nana Patekar, Akshay Kumar, Katrina Kaif, Mallika Sherawat, Adi Irani, and Paresh Rawal all have significant roles in the film. Sunil Shetty makes a special appearance as himself in the movie.

The story revolves around the life of Rajiv Saini (Akshay Kumar), an auctioneer who is smitten by Sanjana Shetty (Katrina Kaif) the moment he sees her in an auction. He lives with his uncle Dr. Ghungroo (Paresh Rawal) and aunt Niharika Ghungroo (Supriya Karnik). Rajiv has a fateful encounter with an underworld don Majnu (Anil Kapoor) who deems him to be perfect for Uday Shetty's (Nana Patekar) sister. Rajiv meets Uday and thinks that he is a good guy so he agrees to marry his sister. His misconception is soon cleared when he finds out about the "business" Uday is actually into and breaks off the marriage.

Rajiv and his family are harassed by Uday Shetty and his goons so they decide to run away to South Africa. Rajiv meets Sanjana and they instantly fall in love. To everyone's surprise, it is revealed that Sanjana is Uday Shetty's sister. Dr. Ghungroo disapproves of their relationship and tells them that he will let Rajiv marry Sanjana only if Uday and Majnu decide to come clean and leave the underworld business. Rajiv and Sanjana try their level best to make Uday and Majnu leave the world of crime. What follows is a roller coaster ride filled with hilarious moments, revelations and a memorable climax that is sure to tickle your funny bone and leave you in splits!

Welcome was received well by the audiences and praised Akshay Kumar and Paresh Rawal for their legendary comic timing. It has gone on to receive cult status in popular culture and its dialogues are still remembered in the form of memes. It was the second highest grossing bollywood movie in 2007, amassing a whopping Rs. 122 Crores in the box office. Owing to its popularity, a second instalment of the movie was released in 2015 called Welcome Back which did decently in the box office.
