Wazir is a Hindi movie about a suspended Anti-Terrorism Squad officer who becomes friends with a wheelchair-bound chess player.

The Wazir movie is based on two guys who vow to support one another in winning the most important games of their life after being brought together by sadness and an odd turn of events. However, a threatening, enigmatic foe is waiting in the shadows to checkmate them.

In response to the death of badminton star Syed Modi on July 28, 1988 in Lucknow, Vidhu Vinod Chopra had the concept for Wazir. Chopra, though, has asserted that the incident and the movie are entirely unrelated.

The movie was initially scheduled for release in the middle of 2015, however Wazir was released in the year 2016 on the 8th of January. Wazir is also available on OTT platforms like Netflix. The movie is as long as 104 minutes.

Bejoy Nambiar is the director of Wazir and Vidhu Vinod Chopra is the producer. The movie was distributed by Reliance Entertainment. Wazir’s main cast includes Farhan Akhtar, Amitabh Bachchan, Aditi Rao Hydari, Manav Kaul, Neil Nitin Mukesh, Nassir Khan, and John Abraham.
