Directed by Gajendra Singh, the tv show is produced by the production house of Urban Brew Studios. The main Star Voice Of India Judges include Shaan, Jatin Pandit, Lalit Pandit, Aadesh Shrivastava, Abhijeet Bhattacharya, Neha Kakkar, and Armaan Malik among many others.

Many Indian cities hosted the show's auditions. Out of the thousands of applicants who auditioned, the judges selected 17, and the 17 contestants performed on the first two episodes of the show.

Ishmeet Singh, a resident of Punjab, was therefore formally announced as the inaugural Star Voice of India winner. He produced a religious CD titled "Satgur Tumre Kwaaj Saware" after winning the competition.

On July 18, 2008, Star Voice of India 2 made its debut. It stands for the Voice of India second season of Gajendra Singh and Urban Brew's previous show. Three new judges have taken the place of all the old judges this season. On the programme, Saptaparna Chakraborty and Ravi Shukla were the two finalists.
