In 2019, K. S. Ravindra, D. Suresh Babu, and TG. Vishwa Prasad under the banners of Suresh Productions and People's Media Factory released the action comedy Venky Mama. Along with Prakash Raj, Nassar, Vidyu Raman, and Rao Ramesh playing supporting parts, the movie stars Venkatesh, Naga Chaitanya, Raashi Khanna, and Payal Rajput in key roles

The movie starts in Draksharama, the home of renowned astrologer Ramanarayana, his wife Lakshmi, and son Venkatarathnam. As he foresee the couple's passing shortly after, a year after the birth of their son Karthik, Ramanarayana resists his daughter's marriage. Karthik lost his family in a horrible accident, as Ramanarayana foretold. Ramanarayana cautions that the child will likewise bring grief to his family in this instance and proposes giving him to his paternal grandparents. However, Venky Mama disputes it and lovingly raises his young nephew instead, even ignoring his desire to enlist in the army.

Years pass, and the action now takes place in Kashmir where Venkatarathnam is being searched by Karthik, who departed without telling anyone. As soon as Venkatarathnam enters an area that is guarded by the army, he is arrested after attempting to persuade the army officials that Karthik is innocent. They assert that there is no one of the sorts in their unit, but Venkatarathnam is adamant about meeting him. He then begins telling their narrative. Karthik rejects different employment after earning his engineering degree because he would rather follow in his uncle's footsteps. But his granddad always embroiders.

Later, Karthik comes to the realisation that Venkatarathnam has abandoned his marital life in favour of his upbringing, and he decides to find the ideal match for him. Similar to how he gets to know the newly hired Hindi teacher Vennela and tries to get close to her, which she misinterprets. In addition, Harika, the daughter of evil MLA Pasupathi, who was Karthik's ex-girlfriend, arrives in the area. When Venkatarathnam finds out about their relationship, he pursues Harika to find out why they broke up, but this too is unsuccessful. Currently, Karthik is successful in winning Vennela over to his uncle.

In addition, Venkatarathnam is aware through Harika of their estrangement due to Karthik's preference for his uncle before her and his life. Knowing this, Venkatarathnam makes the decision to transfer Karthik to London and break his relationship with him. At that time, Karthik declares that no one, not even himself, can separate him from his uncle. Harika regrets overhearing their chat and recognises Karthik's virtue.

The marriage proposal is then made to Pasupathi by Venkatarathnam. At that point, Pasupathi announces his intention to support Venkatarathnam in the approaching election because the local populace regards his word as law. However, when Venkatarathnam spares and degrades him, the plot reverses. When Venkatarathnam protects Karthik, a furious Pasupathi suddenly kills him. Astonished, Ramanarayana claims that Karthik was created to destroy his maternal uncle and that the only way to stop it is to divide them during the intermission. Venkatarathnam and Karthik listen to it but reject it. Unfortunately, a number of bad events occur, prompting Karthik to realise the error of his ways and leave the house for his uncle's safety.

Three years later, Ramanarayana confirms Karthik's enrollment in the military in order to fulfil his uncle's wish. The narrative briefly jumps to the current when Venkatarathnam learns that Karthik has been taken hostage by the terrorists so they can hold off for their already-dead boss. Venkatarathnam decides to pose as the terrorist during that predicament knowing that it will be a suicidal mission for him. Due to Karthik's horoscope at the time of hand-off, Venkatarathnam is fired from his position as a blackguard. Finally, Karthik prevents his uncle from passing away by challenging the horoscope in the face of his idolization.

The film finishes happily with uncle and nephew matching up with their romantic interests and the adage that love is a fact, but horoscopes are merely a belief. The film received mixed reviews from critics, who liked the performance by Venkatesh. It was a commercially successful movie.
