Tabla Player aka Tabalchi is a musical artist who plays the instrument Tabla. Twin hand drums from the Indian subcontinent are known as tablas. 

The main percussion instrument in Hindustani classical music since the 18th century, it can be performed solo, in larger ensembles, and in accompaniment with other instruments and vocalists. 

In India, Bangladesh, Pakistan, Nepal, and Sri Lanka, it is widely performed during performances of popular and folk music. In the bhakti devotional traditions of Hinduism and Sikhism, such as during bhajan and kirtan singing, the tabla is a crucial instrument. It is a key piece of equipment used by Sufi musicians to perform qawwali. Additionally, the instrument is used in dance performances like Kathak. 

Zakir Hussain, Yogesh Shamsi, Suresh Talwalkar, Anindo Chatterjee, Kumar Bose, etc. are the best tabla players from the continent. Prasad Padhye, Ved Prajapati, Mannanjot Singh, Rais Khan, etc. are also other prominent Tabla players from India currently.

The tabla is made up of two small, single-headed barrel-shaped drums called baya and daya for the left and right drums, respectively. It is constructed from a conical piece of mainly teak and rosewood that has had about half of its depth hollowed out.
