Sakhi is a Marathi Drama movie directed by Sanjay Surkar from the year 2008 which starred Ashok Saraf in it.

Directed by Sanjay Surkar, the show is produced by Lata Narvekar, and Bharti Achrekar under the production banners  Shri Chintamani Vision, and Everest Entertainment. The main Sakhi cast includes Ashok Saraf, Sonali Kulkarni, Subodh Bhave, Usha Nadkarni, and Santosh Juvekar among many others.

The story starts with a  middle-aged widower named Suryakant Jagdale who lost his employment as a result of the Compulsory Retirement Scheme. In his hometown village, where his charitable intentions are met with apathy, Nishi Surve, a young woman who is trying suicide after being dumped by her in-laws, is saved by him by chance. Nishi's singing ability is discovered by Surya, who encourages her to pursue the craft. Due to their traditional outlook, the locals disapprove of their unusual connection. As a result of the unjust charges, Surya and Nishi leave their town and move to Mumbai in search of a better future. After receiving numerous rejections, a young composer named Ravi Desai provides Nishi's career with a much-needed boost. While Surya experiences disappointment, she becomes a star quickly.

Sanjay Surkar, the director, strives to convey the emotional tie effectively. However, the subtle layered intricacies of Sakhi have not been adequately captured by Gautam Rajadhyksha and Yogesh Khadikar (who authored the Kajol-starrer Bekhudi and the Madhuri Dixit-Shah Rukh Khan-starrer Anjam). Only Surya's side of this bond is shown in the narrative. The attention has not been on Nishi's feelings.
