Binita Sen relocates to Modern Society in Navi Mumbai with her ungrateful daughter Nitya following a contentious divorce from her husband, who now lives in Kolkata. She quickly becomes friends with a group of people known as the "kitty party"—which includes Jasbeer Brar, Anita Jethmalani, Dilnavaz Noorani, Parimal Bhosle, Lata Kodialbal, and Sania Noorani—whose main interest seems to be daytime soap opera featuring the contemporary characters Kunti and Arjun.

Through stock brokers, Ritesh Jethmalani and Feroz Sethna, MacMillan and Modi respectively engage Binita as a teacher and Nitya for a call centre position. Nitya feels attracted to Ritesh, but she is a little disappointed when she learns that he has a committed girlfriend named Kirti Wagaskar.

After being told by Nitya that her new friends have been spreading rumours about her, Binita is unconcerned. However, she will get upset when she learns that they have been following her around to check if she is having an affair with Feroz. She confronts them and brings them to Feroz, who ultimately gives them stock market and Sensex advice.
