In the movie Red Swastik, living in Mumbai, India, with her physically disabled daughter and working as a magazine editor, Sarika is a single mother. One day a female reader calls her furious that her submission wasn't printed. She informs her friend, D.C.P. Chaudhary, who meets with her but is unable to help, that the caller sounded dangerous. 

Later that evening, he and Crime Branch Inspector Sunil Ranade pay Sarika a visit and let her know that a businessman had been savagely knifed to death and had a bloody "swastika" symbol on his forehead. They tell her that when they dialled the victim's last number again, they discovered that it was actually her work number. They also told her that they believe the murderer to be a woman who they believe killed another male in Delhi in a similar manner and whose method of choice appears to be to kill married men who are having extramarital affairs. In case the murderer calls again, they give her a recording device. 

The female does phone back and makes an effort to get to know Sarika, but when questioned about her name and whereabouts, she becomes upset and evasive. The Police discover another deceased male victim shortly after, and the search is on for this elusive, seemingly untraceable killer who never leaves any traces.
