Parvati, also known as Paro, holds Border Security Force (BSF) personnel accountable for the death of her parents and has nothing but virulent hatred for them. She was raised by Thakurain Mala, and she frequently experiences nightmares over the passing of her parents. The dishonest Raja Tejawat organises Varun's involvement in smuggling guns across the border while Paro is getting married. Varun is killed when BSF personnel, under the command of Deputy Commandant Rudra Pratap Ranawat, stop the procession.
Unaware Parvati accuses Rudra of causing her husband's demise. Rudra hopes she would testify because she believes she is a crucial witness. Tejawat sends henchmen to kill her in order to stop this. When his evil aunt Mohini attacks Parvati's morality after Rudra has moved her to his paternal house, Rudra's father steps in to defend them and declares Parvati to be his fiancée. After learning that Rudra's mother started a relationship with another man, ignorant that his mother is the Thakurain, Parvati eventually empathises with Rudra on an emotional level. Parvati decides to trust Tejawat and flee with him on the day of her marriage to Rudra, only to learn the real reason for her union with Varun. She returns to Rudra after recognising her error and realising how much she loves him.
Despite her greatest efforts, Parvati is unable to win over Rudra. He is accused of domestic abuse, loses his job, and then marries Paro while intoxicated. After being re-established, Rudra initially rejects Paro since she betrayed him, but later realises he still loves her. The couple deals with Rudra's recovery from right arm paralysis, Laila's disruptions, and their shared reluctance to declare their love for one another. They gradually come together and share their emotions.
When Mala and Rudra cross paths again, Rudra is vehemently hostile to her. Paro makes a lot of effort—and eventually succeeds—in reuniting mother and kid. Rudra finally marries Paro after her being moved by his attempts to make amends for her. Up until Rudra gets a phone call stating that Paro will be slain, the family is content. The family moves for their own protection. As a bodyguard, Varun's younger brother Shanthanu breaks into their home. When Parvati learns, Rudra arrives in time to save her. Shanthanu is put behind bars. Parvati subsequently gets pregnant and gives birth to a child they call Dhruv. When Shanthanu escapes from jail and kills Parvati, who is dying in Rudra's arms, their joy is cruelly cut short. Rudra ends up killing Shantanu.
7 years pass by and Dhruv, who is now seven years old, and his family reside with Rudra. His new responsibility after leaving the BSD is serving as Myrah Mehra's bodyguard. Myrah, an NRI who resembles Parvati in appearance, has come from the US to choose a location for her marriage to Rohit Sehgal. Rudra makes an effort to separate himself from her while also turning nasty. Myrah unwittingly develops a crush on Rudra when she is in his home, and the two get along. He remembers how he couldn't help Parvati as he saves her from her captors. Myrah kisses Rudra while he is high on painkillers and he does the same, mistaking her for Paro, but he stops in time.
He shows his annoyance at Myrah's likeness to his late wife as she begins to realise her affections for him. She makes the heartbreaking decision to leave Rudra's life, but when her fiancé shows up, Rudra becomes envious. Rudra likes Myrah when she assists Maithlee and Samrat in adopting a child. Rudra won't admit that he loves Myrah, but in a dream, Paro speaks with him and advises him to get over it and find happiness. She promises him that Myrah has been sent for both him and Dhruv. Rudra expresses his love to Myrah while intoxicated. She decides to wed Rohit despite being unsure of her love for him.
Rudra apologises in a letter for not joining her nuptials since he is unable to handle the loss. Myrah sends Rohit a video explaining her feelings for Rudra, and he advises her to go after it. Rudra and Myrah proclaim their love at the show's conclusion, and the entire family rejoices.
