In a prominent boarding school for males, where youngsters continue to follow traditional customs and codes shaped by decades of social hierarchy, it is winter. Shay is regularly harassed, and Arjun, the tall, athletic sports captain, and his close friend Baadal are the major offenders. In the Founders Day production of Merchant of Venice, Shay and Prithi, the vivacious daughter of the new junior school principal, are cast as Bassanio and Portia. 

By using Baadal as Shay's backup, charming theatre teacher Murali unintentionally makes Baadal's wounds worse. Outraged, Baadal swears to obtain Shay's participation at whatever costs and asks his friend Arjun for assistance. When Shay enters the scene with Arjun, Baadal, and their associates, things take a sinister turn.
