From 18 August 2014 to 27 June 2015, Star Plus broadcast the Indian coming-of-age romance drama television series Nisha Aur Uske Cousins (Nisha and Her Cousins).
Nisha Aur Uske Cousins Shooting Location was in Jaipur, Rajashthan.
The plot centred on the relationships between seven cousins who lived in Jaipur, Rajasthan, and on the arguments that arose in the family over generational differences in viewpoint.
Set against the backdrop of Jaipur, it demonstrates the unusual bond between seven cousins: Umesh, the oldest, who loves to cook; Dolly, a soon-to-be-married shopaholic; Nisha, a tomgirl and a daredevil at heart; Suketu, an aspiring actor; Jwala, a smart, painfully shy, loveable geek; and Bunty, the youngest, who is a typical troublemaker and lives with her
Although Grandpa loves his grandchildren, he is a rigid man who values order and tradition. He does not share the cousins' beliefs or the maxim Friends are for life, Cousins are for eternally!
Despite having different personalities, the cousins encourage one another and are connected by a bond of love and camaraderie. Their childhood pal Saurav is a member of the cousins' group as well.
The relatives make sure that Dolly marries Sumit by resolving all the issues that undoubtedly arise during her wedding (problems that they have inevitably caused).
Umesh wants to start his own restaurant but is afraid of his father since he wants to carry on the family business. Dadaji does not support Suketu's desire to pursue an acting career, and he is forced to work in the family company as well. Kirti breaks off her engagement to Ritesh after discovering his self-serving intentions.
When Jwala's tutor tries to mistreat her, Nisha steps in to help her, which reveals that Nisha was abused as a child when she was thirteen and later turned into a tomboy.
Nisha joins Viraj Singh Rathore's Lakshya Academy as an administrative assistant after being inspired by the national-level shooter. She sends him emails under the alias of Aarti to try to break his isolation. When Umesh's lover Amanpreet's father dies, he decides to go against his family's wishes and declare that he wants to marry Amanpreet, which is not well accepted by the elders who prefer that Umesh marry a Jain.
Amanpreet and Viraj get closer as brothers and sisters. Following a few incidences, Umesh and Amanpreet get permission from the family to get married.
At a news conference, Viraj's mother Gayatri misrepresented Viraj and Nisha's relationship by outright admitting that Nisha was Aarti. Viraj is broken to pieces.
After hearing Viraj's harsh comments, a heartbroken Nisha chooses to travel alone to learn more about herself. While there, she meets Kabir, a photographer who has travelled from Dubai to Jaipur in quest of his brother, whom he has never met.
Both end up getting married inadvertently while attempting to protect a young girl named Chandu and themselves from the thugs; they later get married again against their will in front of Nisha's family at Grandpa's request. They decide to wed for three months under a contract, following which Kabir would move to London to pursue his dream of becoming a well-known dancer around the world. Ramesh makes the decision to pursue his passion and leaves the family company to launch his own music school.
As the family's affection for Kabir grows, Sumit becomes envious and, along with his mother and Rupan, hatches a scheme to have him captured in a phoney jewellery case.
However, Nisha is planning to clear Kabir's name with the help of her relatives, while Kabir is in jail and Nisha is hospitalised after an accident caused by Sumit. After becoming conscious again, Nisha, her cousins, Ramesh, and Lakshmi demonstrate Kabir's innocence and find Sumit guilty of the murders he committed. Despite knowing they are in love, Kabir and Nisha do not confess. While everything is going on, Kaira reveals Gayatri's secret, and Viraj realises his error in not believing in Nisha as well as his love for her and his attempts to get her back.
Vasundhara, Kabir's mother, travels to India and chastises her son for hiding his marriage and lying to her about living in London.
She first agrees to the union, but after learning that Nisha is a Gangwal—a family she despises because of certain past events—she swears to divorce them. The following scene reveals that Viraj and Kabir are brothers and that Vasundhara had to abandon Viraj as a young boy due to a variety of factors. Without realising that Viraj is her son, she manipulates Nisha and Kabir by using him to cause misunderstandings. Kabir decides to travel to London since he believes Nisha is still in love with Viraj. When Vasundhara learns that Viraj is her son, she realises her error and asks Nisha to put the brothers back together. Reunited are Viraj and Kabir. Viraj resolves to move on after realising Nisha loves Kabir.
Vasundhara extends her regrets to everyone before deciding to stay with Viraj. Dolly learns she is pregnant in the meanwhile, but she decides to raise the child by herself and files for divorce from Sumit.
The narrative concludes with Saurav and Dolly confessing their love for one another, Kabir asking Nisha to marry him, and the Gangwal family celebrating their joyous reunion. A flashback of all of their joyful times is presented while the cousins' theme song, Firdausiyana, plays in the background.
