The life of renowned encounter expert Bhaskar Shetty is told in the film Mum Bhai. He ended up becoming someone he had never intended to be because his desire to govern the city knew no bounds. But then someone altered all of his game's rules.

Greetings from the 1990s Mumbai, the city run by the Bhais. Mum Bhai is a criminal thriller that takes place in Mumbai in the 1990s, when organised crime ruled the city. Everyone desired to govern the city at the time, including one of the most sought gangsters, Rama Shetty, and encounter specialist Bhaskar Shetty.

Bhaskar and Rama were like brothers despite being from opposing sides of the coin, but things changed as politics and power started to dominate all relationships. Bhaskar Shetty attained fame, wealth, and power, but the real Mum Bhai was the sharper character playing him and genuinely in charge of the city. According to Times As India's Archika Khurana, Angad Bedi's portrayal of a gangster in the series adds realism to the gangster scenes. The series review was summed up by Udita Jhunjhunwala of Firstpost, who said that Angad Bedi's crime series is a stunning synthesis of every Indian gangster film.
According to Heer Kothari of the Free Express Journal, the series is watchable because of the actors' particular acting prowess. Pakaoo gave the series a mixed assessment and pointed out that it omitted many important details.
