The Miss World Organization sponsors the Mister World competition, a male beauty pageant. In 1996, the competition was established. The participants compete in a variety of sports, including marathon running, mountain biking, and water skiing. 

The Mister World competition reached its ninth season in 2016. On July 19, 2016, it took place at the Southport Convention Center's Floral Hall in Southport, England. At the conclusion of the competition, Rohit Khandelwal of India was crowned by Danish competitor Nicklas Pedersen, becoming the first Asian to do so.

Rohit Khandelwal also won Mr. India in 2015 and was the first Asian to ever win Mr. World in 2016. During his time as the Mister World, he made numerous trips to India and the UK as well as to the Philippines, South Korea, South Africa, and China.

Beginning his career, Rohit Khandelwal worked as a Dell technical support assistant and ground crew member for SpiceJet. He once worked as a model for the massive online retailer Myntra, and he dabbled in TV production. Yeh Hai Aashiqui, an Indian television program that aired on Bindass and dramatized love stories, featured Rohit Khandelwal's television debut in episode 76.

Jack Heslewood, an English aerospace engineer, is the current Mister World. He was crowned on August 23, 2019, in Manila. He is the sixth European to be named Mister World in the 2019 competition, making him the first English person to ever win a world championship. Mister World typically resides in London when in power.
