Lagaan is an Indian Hindi Language Historical Sports Drama Movie. It was produced by Aamir Khan under the banner of  Aamir Khan Productions. Aamir Khan, Gracy Singh, and Rachel Shelley are in the lead role. Actors like Daya Shankar Pandey, Raghubir Yadav, Raj Zutshi, and Paul Blackthorne also played a remarkable role in this movie. Lagaan was released on June 15, 2001, with a running time of 224 Minutes.

Lagaan Plot

The plot of the movie Lagaan centers around the year 1893 when the British colonized India. The dictatorial Captain Russell (Paul Blackthorne) has imposed an extraordinary land tax on the residents of a small village. Bhuvan (Aamir Khan), a rebel farmer, organizes the locals to vocally object to the tax out of outrage. 

Russell proposes a creative solution to the problem: he challenges Bhuvan and his men to a match of cricket, a game that is completely unheard of in India. The tax will be removed if Bhuvan and his men can defeat Russell's group.
