Jamai Raja Serial Overview

Jamai Raja is an Indian television drama series that premiered on Zee TV on August 4, 2014 and ended on March 3, 2017, after a three-year run.

Jackson Sethi, Rohit Diwedi and Jafar Shaikh and had Ravi Dubey, Achint Kaur and Nia Sharma in the lead roles. It also stars Apara Mehta, Mouli Ganguly, Delnaaz Irani, Sanjay Swaraj, Reyhna Malhotra, among others in key roles.

Akshay Kumar produced the drama, which was co-produced by Ashvini Yardi and Meenakshi Sagar. It was directed by Sangeita Rao.

Jamai Raja was shot in different locations in Mumbai, Maharashtra, India.

There are several misconceptions and disputes between Durga Devi (DD) Patel, played by Achint Kaur and her daughter, Roshni Patel, played by Nia Sharma. DD is a successful jewellery designer. Roshni Patel, her daughter, believes that her mother does not love her, does not give her time, and is only interested in making money. She despises DD as a result of this and never treats her kindly. 

The show opens with Roshni getting her kids ready for school at the NGO she runs, and it is revealed that it is her birthday. She and her Nani head to the airport to pick up DD, who is returning to India. DD, on the other hand, is portrayed to be egotistical. Siddharth Khurrana, played by Ravi Dubey, who sees how arrogant DD is, intends to tamper with her on her flight.

He acts as a middle class man with no manners and etiquettes. When DD first sees Roshni, she gives her a big hug and tells her she could have dressed better. She lavishes Roshni with gifts, but she does not wish her a happy birthday as she has done in the past. When Roshni meets Siddarth, he appears to be a middle-class man, and Roshni begins to despise Siddarth Khurrana without realising who he is.

Siddarth assumes the identity of a middle-class man named Siddarth Kukreja in front of Roshni. He falls in love with her, and she returns his feelings after a few meetings. They marry, but not in front of DD, who is against their love and marriage. They start living together in DD's house after getting married, and Siddarth becomes a "Ghar Jamai."

What follows is a series of revelations, heartbreaks, betrayals and romance that makes this TV Serial a perfect blend of drama and entertainment for the whole family to watch together. Jamai Raja ended in 2017 and currently airs digitally on Zee 5 for free.
