Puri Jagannadh wrote and directed the 2013 Telugu-language romantic action movie Iddarammayilatho. It features Brahmanandam, Ali, Shawar Ali, Nassar, Pragathi, Kaajal Vashisht and Rao Ramesh in supporting roles alongside Allu Arjun, Amala Paul, and Catherine Tresa. Under the banner of Parameswara Art Productions, Bandla Ganesh produced the movie. Romeo & Juliets was the name given to the movie when it was launched in Malayalam. The film was shot in Paris and Spain

The Central Minister is accused of having $1 trillion in illegal money and using his trusting daughter Akanksha, a psychology major attending university in Barcelona, to launder it into Europe. When Akanksha discovers a diary in her apartment in Barcelona, she decides to read it out of curiosity. The book details the romance between Komali Sankarabharanam and Sanju Reddy. Shawar Ali, the assassin of Akanksha's father, proposes to her in Paris. By chance, she meets Sanju and begins to know him.

Sanju, a former engineer who is now the lead guitarist of a band, makes a fortune by playing on stages and in public places. Komali is from an orthodox Telugu Brahmin family, as described in the journal. Due to her love in classical music, she enrols at a musical school in Barcelona where Brahma, the violin master, teaches her the violin. She unexpectedly falls in love with Sanju and receives parental consent from their Indian parents for their inter-caste union. After accidentally recording video while Shawar Ali was killing the Spanish ambassador and attempting to launder money, Komali was unknowingly caught.

On a few occasions, Sanju protects Komali from these goons; this is where the diary's story abruptly comes to an end. Akanksha starts asking Sanju about their love story out of curiosity and learns alarming information in the process. Akanksha keeps questioning, and Sanju eventually informs her that Komali has passed away. In a subsequent flashback, it is revealed that their parents had travelled to Spain in order to arrange Sanju and Komali's marriage. At that point, Shawar Ali's brother kidnaps Komali, and when Sanju arrives to save her, Shawar Ali's brother kills Komali. Sanju beats up the entire gang in a fit of rage, leaving Shawar Ali's brother in a coma.

When Akanksha hears this, she feels bad for Sanju and begins to fall in love with him. She also makes unsuccessful attempts to extricate him from Komali's memories. Akanksha notices Komali crossing a street in the meantime. When Akanksha runs to Sanju to tell him about Komali, Shawar Ali's men immediately surround Sanju. Sanju explains to Akanksha that he planned to seduce her in order to make up for the murder of his and Komali's parents at the hands of Shawar Ali while beating up Shawar Ali's soldiers. A flashback then reveals that Sanju had transported Komali's body to the hospital after assaulting Shawar's brother, at which point Sanju's father called the Central Minister to prosecute Shawar Ali.

The Central Minister then summons Shawar Ali to put an end to this issue so that he can escape. After shooting Sanju and Komali, Shawar Ali kills their parents at the hospital, where it is assumed that they have already passed away. Sanju and Komali, however, survived. Then it becomes clear that Sanju has been patiently waiting to exact his retribution and has used Akanksha as a pawn in this game. He was also the one who sent their photo to Shawar Ali in order to make Shawar Ali envious so that Shawar Ali would then personally travel to kill Sanju. Later, it is discovered that Komali is still alive and that both of them desired to get revenge on their parents' murderers. Sanju fights Shawar Ali in the forest, and with Akanksha's assistance, kills Shawar. While Akanksha lives alone, Sanju and Komali are content.
