Young Preeti Vyas (Aishwarya Rai) boldly comes forward as a witness to a horrifying assault carried out by Bhavani Choudhry (Mukesh Rishi) and his men on a destitute teacher whose land they desired. Preeti and Avinash (Anil Kapoor), kind and courageous man with high morals and values, assist the injured man in getting to the hospital.

Preeti is raped by Babloo Choudhry (Puru Raaj Kumar), the younger brother of Choudhry after Preeti's testimony incenses the Choudhry family. She is thereafter abandoned by her family and shunned by society.

Avinash offers her shelter and invites her inside his house. Avinash is a single parent of two little kids. Eventually, they all grow closer and the movie depicts their journey.
