Shanker Raman's 2016 Indian neo-noir thriller Gurgaon was made by the prominent JAR Pictures studios. The movie is based in the Haryana metropolis of Gurgaon and stars Akshay Oberoi, Ragini Khanna, Pankaj Tripathi, and Arjun Fauzdar. The movie had its international premiere at the 2016 International Film Festival & Awards in Macao before going on general release on August 4, 2017. Critics gave it good reviews.

The real estate tycoon Kehri Singh (Pankaj Tripathi) and his family are the focus of the movie Gurgaon. Kehri Singh intends to leave the firm in the hands of his daughter Preet (Ragini Khanna), who will be able to run it with her credentials and reputation. On the other hand, Niki Singh, the eldest son of Kehri (Akshay Oberoi), loses a big amount of money betting on a cricket game.

 Niki makes up the lost money, therefore in order to do so, he and his friends decide to abduct Preeto in order to demand a large ransom from Kehri Singh. As a result of things not going exactly as Niki had hoped, some undesirable things happen.

In a slow, poisonous style, director Shanker Raman tells a dark, unusual, and incredibly gripping storyline. He presents his characters in a realistic way while also giving them all the associated dark, hidden qualities.

Gurgaon is directed by Shanker Raman and written by Vipin Bhati, Shanker Raman, and Sourabh Ratnu. The star cast of Gurgaon includes Pankaj Tripathi, Akshay Oberoi, Arjun Fauzadar, Ragini Khanna, Aamir Bhasir, and others.
