Ishaan Randeria's 2015 comedy Gujjubhai The Great is set in Gujarat. It is produced by Devendra N. Patel in collaboration with Siddharth Randeria Productions and is presented by Nakshatra Entertainment. The comedy-drama movie is based on the immensely popular Gujjubhai stage play series. Siddharth Randeria, Jimit Trivedi, Swati Shah, Dipna Patel, Alekh Sangal, Sunil Vishrani, Khatera Hakimi, and Dharmesh Vyas are among the actors who appear in the movie. The movie came out on September 18.

The movie opens with a glimpse of the Gandhi home before it goes back and introduces the characters. Hasmukh Gandhi has a positive outlook on life. However, his stress-free existence is disturbed when Tanisha, his daughter, and Montu, her boyfriend, arrive home. Tanisha was a devoted follower of Sonia Kapoor, the superstar, and Montu made a promise to her that he knew her well and would one day take her to meet Sonia. Montu set himself the goal of seducing any girl when he travelled to Ahmedabad. Gandhi declined his offer of a collaboration in his next project because he was aware of Montu's ulterior motives.

However, the Gandhi family was seduced by Montu. Hasmukh discovers Bakul Booch to be the ideal boy for Tanisha because he doesn't want to trap his daughter. In his office, Hasmakh is overseen by Bakul. Tanisha was a childhood buddy of his. When Hasmukh confessed his desire to marry Bakul to Tanisha, Bakul vehemently disputed it and claimed Tanisha was more outgoing and a better match for him. Hasmukh decides to make Bakul into a hip "gujju" on his own. He intends to fabricate a romance between Bakul and actress Sonia Kapoor. Tanisha was a fervent supporter of Sonia.

In the meanwhile, Hasmukh meets Laila at a conference. Laila learns that Hasmukh is a wealthy guy and decides to lure him into a trap by demanding money in exchange for his release from her. Laila's extortion was unknown to Hasmukh's wife.

After tricking Sonia's bodyguard, Hasmukh and Bakul meet her in a hotel and capture pictures and movies with her and Bakul. Hasmukh posed as a doctor from a Foundation while Bakul pretended to be a blind patient. Tanisha is fascinated by Bakul after seeing these images become viral. She grew progressively more in love with Bakul. When Montu learns about his scheme, he resolves to tell Tanisha about Bakul. Bakul hesitates when Tanisha asks him to assist her meet Sonia Kapoor.

Montu takes the entire family to Sonia's filming location with the intention of outing Bakul. Sonia recognises Bakul right away and extends a greeting. Sonia responds that she doesn't know Montu and has never met her when Montu accuses Bakul of lying. Tanisha is upset at Montu for falsely claiming to know Sonia Kapoor. In the meantime, the authorities are keeping an eye on Hasmukh and Bakul because they believe they are wanted terrorists. The actress' genuine boyfriend, a mobster named Badebhai, learns about this relationship, believes it to be true, and goes to the Gandhi home to kill Bakul.

Even though the police enter the home and apprehend Badebhai, Bakul is hurt when Badebhai fires his gun. He requests that the authorities place him under arrest after growing tired of the entire family. Bakul is transported for medical attention in an ambulance. At the movie's conclusion, Badebhai is in jail, Montu has left Ahmedabad, and Tanisha and the rest of the Gandhi family have visited Bakul in the hospital.
