Footprints follows the emotional journey of a restless mother, a broken-hearted tribal girl, a story of a missing soul, and a group of college buddies who arrive in Kashmir but the endearing adventure strangely turns out to be a detestable one.

Five college pals who are now established in their lives are the subjects of the book Footprints. The protagonist, Mohsin, is going blind in six months, something his non-Kashmiri pals are unaware of, thus he loves to use his still camera to capture the natural beauty of Kashmir. He extends an invitation to his buddies to visit Kashmir so they can get together.

They manage to make it happen despite the families of the non-Kashmiri friends' displeasure, and the pals begin their trek, which strangely changes from a charming adventure to an awful one.
