Bheja Fry is a Hindi comedy movie directed by Sagar Ballaryfrom the year 2007 and starring Rajat Kapoor. this is the first film in the Bheja Fry Trilogy.

The 1998 French film Le Dîner de Cons, which was eventually turned into the 2010 Hollywood picture Dinner for Schmucks, served as the inspiration for this movie.

The film's plot follows Ranjeet Thadani who manages Soundtrack Industries while leading a luxurious lifestyle in Mumbai with his wife Sheetal, a singer. In response to a request from his friend Jagdish Verma, he chooses to host musician and Libran Bharat Bhushan at his home for supper and to hear him perform. Ranjeet, who has back trouble, is unaware that Bharat is also an income-tax inspector, and that when he shows up at his house, he will practically and humorously turn his life upside down.

Bheja Fry received an IMDB rating of 7.6 out of 10. Both the public and critics responded well to the movie. The movie had a below-average opening weekend at the box office, earning just 1.22 crores, and its overall gross was 8.98 crores. However, thanks to good word-of-mouth, the movie did better in its second weekend.

The first Bheja Fry was a moderate box office hit despite having a cheap budget. As a result, a Malaysian-produced sequel with the working title Bheja Fry 2 was made available on June 17, 2011. The sole original character from the sequel, Vinay Pathak, returned as the main character and was joined by new actors Minissha Lamba and Kay Kay Menon.
