The 74th Republic Day of India will celebrate on January 26, 2023. Every year, the spectacular Republic Day parade is the days highlight. According to the latest reports, there will be no Chief Guest and a limited number of spectators due to the ongoing pandemic.


Latest Updates for Republic Day 2023



Following the most recent pandemic guidelines, the military and cultural parades will be shorter and fewer in number. The parade will begin at Vijay Chowk and end at the National Stadium rather than the Red Fort.


The number of spectators will also be reduced to avoid crowding and to reduce the possibility of the virus spreading.


The Armed Forces of Bangladesh will also march in the parade to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the 1971 War of Liberation.


Chief Guest for Republic Day 2023



The chief guest for Republic Day Parade 2023 is Egypt's president Abdel Fattah el-Sisi. Who will be present and host the flag as a chief guest at the Republic Day Parade 2023. This year's Republic Day celebrations in India will take place on January 26, with Egyptian President Abdel-Fattah el-Sisi serving as the special guest. The Egyptian president was not previously asked to attend Republic Day as the principal guest.


On October 16 of last year, External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar presented Abdel-Fattah el-Sisi with an official invitation conveyed by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. This year marks the 75th anniversary of the two nations' establishment of diplomatic relations.


Every year on January 26, Republic Day is observed to commemorate the day the Indian Constitution went into effect in 1950. The custom of inviting leaders of friendly nations to the Republic Day celebrations began in 1950, when Sukarno, the president of Indonesia at the time, was invited as the principal guest.

Republic Day of India 2023 Tickets


Due to the current pandemic issue, tickets for Republic Day 2023 will be limited. The distribution of 7500 tickets has been announced, with 4500 sold to the general public and the remaining 3000 sent out as invitations.


Tickets for this years Republic day are available online and offline as well.  in various ways. You can be invited to the Republic Day Parade 2023 event, or else you can also buy tickets offline.


The tickets can only be purchased at specific offline counters. Purchase them with caution from websites that appear to be scams. A list of all offline counters is provided below. From January 7 to January 25, tickets are on sale.

Timings:


The counters will be open daily from 10:00 a.m. to 12.30 p.m. and 2:00 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. (except January 23 due to full dress rehearsal). From January 23 to 25, the counters at Shastri Bhavan, Jantar Mantar, Jamnagar House, and Sena Bhavan will be open until 7:00 p.m.

Reserved seats are closer to the parade route. Unreserved tickets are distributed on a first-come, first-served basis.


Tips for Buying Tickets for Republic Day 2023


1. Prepare to wait in line for several hours if necessary.


2. Any government identification card, such as an Aadhar card or a voter id, must be presented when purchasing a ticket.


3. Obtaining tickets can be difficult because each counter sells a limited number of tickets, and some counters do not receive tickets for an extended period. Make sure to arrive early at the counter.


4. The INR 500 tickets are the most in-demand and the most scarce. So, if you want to get your hands on them, get there early (around 8:00 AM). Please keep in mind that only one ticket can be purchased per id.


5. The INR 100 tickets have a better view and are more readily available. In this case, two tickets can be purchased with a single id.


6. Tickets for INR 20 are widely available, but you wont get a good view from here.


The Beating Retreat Ceremony



A Beating Retreat Ceremony follows the Republic Day Parade. On January 29th, the ceremony will take place at Vijay Chowk. It represents the pinnacle of the four-day Republic Day celebrations. Tickets for the same can be purchased at the same counters until the afternoon of January 28th.

  1. Because the weather will be cold, bring a warm jacket.


  1. It is strictly forbidden to carry a camera or any other type of video recorder.


Getting There


The parade is heavily guarded. The road between the Red Fort and Vijay Chowk is closed to traffic. Use public transportation because there will be a lot of traffic and no parking space unless your vehicle has a "Park & Ride" label. In that case, you are entitled to park your own car in the designated location. The label is only available to special invitees. Also, metro stations near the parade route are closed. So youll have to get off at the nearest open metro station and take a shuttle service or walk to the venue.
