Rajkummar Rao and Alaya F to star in Srikanth Bolla's Biopic

Bollywood actor Rajkummar Rao will team up with Alaya F for a new film. The 'Stree' star, last seen in the Netflix movie 'Monica, O My Darling', will play the titular role of Srikanth Bolla in the movie titled 'SRI'. The movie, backed by Bhushan Kumar's T-Series Films and Nidhi Parmar, had its 'Muhurat' ceremony on 20 November 2022.
Srikanth Bolla is an Indian industrialist and the founder of Bollant Industries. Born on 7 July 1991 in a small village in Andhra Pradesh, Srikanth was born with visual impairment in both eyes, due to which he received limited opportunities growing up. He managed to outshine and scored 98% in his class 12 board exams. After completing his schooling, Srikanth Bolla got admission to the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, becoming the first international blind student of the university. After graduating, Srikanth Bolla returned to India and founded Bollant Industries, which manufactures eco-friendly disposable products.
Rajkummar Rao will be playing the leading role of Srikanth Bolla in the biopic SRI, with Alaya F and Tamil actress Jyothika playing crucial roles in the movie. The movie is directed by Tushar Hiranandani and produced by Bhushan Kumar, Krishan Kumar and Nidhi Parmar under the banners of T-Series Films and Chalk N Cheese Films. Sharad Kelkar is also reported to play a significant role in the biopic. The writers of the film SRI are Sumit Purohit and Jagdeep Sidhu. The release date of SRI has not been revealed yet, but it is expected to release sometime in the year 2023
The preparation of the film is reported to be going on for quite a while, with the team attending several workshops and ice-breaking sessions in the past few weeks. On the work front, Rajkummar Rao will be seen in 'Guns and Gulabs', which will release on Netflix, 'Bheed', and 'Mr and Mrs Mahi', among other films. Alaya F's upcoming movies include 'Freddy' and 'Almost Pyaar With DJ Mohabbat', to name a few.
