The Nita Mukesh Ambani Cultural Centre (NMACC) was officially opened on March 31, 2023. Nita Ambani's vision for the cultural centre is to promote and preserve Indian arts. NMACC is a first-of-its-kind, multifaceted centre in the field of art, designed to excite the community's interest in the arts which is ideally situated in the city's central area of Bandra Kurla Complex in Mumbai. With the centre, India will take another significant step in enhancing its cultural infrastructure and realising the best artistic endeavours from around the globe.
The founder and chairwoman of the Reliance Foundation, Nita Ambani, commented, “I hope our spaces nurture and inspire talent, bringing people together from across India and the world. Nita Ambani performed traditional pooja on 30th March to seek the blessings of the Lord. The inaugural event includes three blockbuster plays, a musical theatre, and an expertly curated art and craft exhibition named Swadesh.
The top personalities in the fashion and entertainment industries graced the event, making it a star-studded spectacle. To attend the magnificent red-carpet event honouring the fusion of culture and fashion, the stars arrived dressed to perfection.

Events at the NMACC Inaugural Event
In white and silver ethnic clothing, Sidharth Malhotra and Kiara Advani, the Bollywood couple who tied the knot the same year, looked stunning next to each other.
Among the well-known Bollywood couples that showed up to the event were Saif Ali Khan and Kareena Kapoor. Karisma Kapoor also photographed with the pair at the opening event of NMACC.
The NMACC's opening ceremony was attended by many celebrities, making it a big festival. But SRK wasn't seen at the premiere, which disappointed King Khan's supporters. But, his manager Pooja Dadlani shared a photo of him at the event wearing a three-piece black suit, and his admirers praised the dapper look.

The Grand Theatre is the NMACC's prized possession. The theater's perfect sound isolation and haze machines give the feeling of entering a holy place. A lotus-shaped, programmable ceiling uses 8,400 Swarovski crystals to cast and change colours.
The Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles, which was originally designed by David Rockwell, served as inspiration for the 2000-seat theatre, one of the biggest in India. The auditorium's broader curve and the steeper rake, however, are modifications that are exclusive to India.
The Studio Theatre and The Cube are the two smaller theatres that can house 250 and 125 guests, respectively, and offer more individualised, personal experiences.
The exhibition Sangam/Confluence, organised by the American and Indian curators Jeffrey Deitch and Ranjit Hoskote, was on display on the first day. It included works by Indian artists Bharti Kher, Bhupen Khakhar, Ranjani Shettar, Ratheesh T, and Shantibai as well as those by international artists Anselm Kiefer, Cecily Brown, Francesco Clemente, Lynda Benglis, and Raqib Shaw. Together with the exhibition, an audio tour featuring Hoskote's voice was available.
A look into Indian-inspired Western couture was featured in the second opening exhibition, which also covered fashion and history. The collection was put together by Vogue's global editor-at-large, Hamish Bowles, and was created by Patrick Kinmonth and Rooshad Shroff. Manish Malhotra, Tarun Tahiliani, Sabyasachi Mukherjee, Anamika Khanna, Abu Jani-Sandeep Khosla, and many other well-known designers put pieces on display.
The Great Indian Musical: Civilization to Nation, a performance by Feroz Abbas Khan, serves as the third and final opening act. Abbas created this interactive theatre experience with music by the composer duo Ajay-Atul, clothing by Manish Malhotra, dance by Vaibhavi Merchant, and more. The presentation also included a 55-piece live orchestra performed by the Budapest Scoring Orchestra.
Following the grand opening of the Nita Mukesh Ambani Cultural Centre, a number of Bollywood and Hollywood superstars were there. Celebrities took the stage and electrified the audience with their spectacular performances. Alia Bhatt and Rashmika Mandanna performed on Nacho Nacho on the second day at NMACC. Ranveer Singh and Varun Dhawan joined Shahrukh Khan on the Jhoome Jo Pathan popular song during his performance. Ranveer Singh also performed a rap to the popular song Apna Time Aayega. Later, the dynamic actor invited Priyanka Chopra Jonas to the stage, where they danced to Gallan Goodiyaan from the smash blockbuster movie Dil Dhadakne Do from 2015. The most notable of these was Varun Dhawan, who lifted Gigi Hadid while performing. When the Hollywood actress joined the actor on stage as he was performing, he lifted her in his arms and kissed her cheeks.
The Great Indian Musical: Civilization to Nation featured a special performance by Nita Ambani. She performed a choreographed routine to Raghupati Raghav Raja Ram at the launch. Isha Ambani, Akash Ambani, Shloka Ambani, Anant Ambani, and Radhika Merchant, together with Nita and Mukesh Ambani, wore traditional attire for the occasion. Nita Ambani wore a jade blue brocade silk saree, however, for the performance she changed into a pink and red embroidered lehenga outfit.
The NMACC is a testament to the Ambani family's commitment to promoting Indian art and culture. Through its state-of-the-art facilities and initiatives, the center has become a widely known hub for cultural activities and is playing a significant role in promoting Indian art and culture globally.
